Can you take Clomid (clomiphene) and soy isoflavones together? 50 mg Clomid (clomiphene) and 50 mg soy isoflavones?
Hard to say for sure: soy isoflavones are not regulated by the FDA like estrogen, so it is difficult to know if they will interfere with your clomid (clomiphene). I would stop them while on clomid (clomiphene) and just take more soy in your diet like soy milk or soy based foods like edamame ...Read more

No: Clomid (clomiphene) is more effective than metformin for ovulation induction and helping you get pregnant. Also Clomid (clomiphene) needs to be taken only for 5 days each cycle, as opposed to metformin which you must take daily. Clomid (clomiphene) does result in 5% of the pregnancies induced being multiple pregnancies - usually twins. It is not the drug that will result in 5-6 babies at a time. That's a different drug regimen. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Dfferenti: Neither is 'better' or 'worse' than the other, they are different. Menotropins (merional) are generally considered to be "stronger" medicines than clomiphene, but that's not strictly correct . Merional-type drugs tend to produce more follicles and higher Estradiol levels; they also have a higher rate of multiple gestations .And higher chance of ovarian hyperstimulation. ...Read more

No big difference: Studies show pregnancy rates are identical starting cc on cd 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. The main difference is starting later its less likely to have a persistent cyst from the past cycle. For patients not monitored by ultrasound cd 5 may be a better choice, with monitoring it makes little-to- no difference. ...Read more

Can patient undergo ovulation induction using gonal f (follitropin alfa) while using HRT mainly femoston 2/10 mg?
Doesn't make sense: In most cases this would not make much sense, although it could depend on 'why' and 'how' the hrt was being used. Estrogens such as in hrt are sometimes used in stimulation protocols with gonadotropins (such as gonal f, (follitropin alfa) ) an oral progestin would be an unlikely element of most protocols. ...Read more
50mg typical start: 50mg is the typical starting dose and it can be increased to 100mg if no response after the first trial of 50mg regimen. Basically it is just a higher dose and using it indicates that your body may need this dose to respond if the first one failed. If you have additional concerns, repost here or consult your doc..Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Clomid (clomiphene) is an estro receptor.Brain needs estrogen surge to release lh.Which means ppl on Clomid (clomiphene) don't have LH surge? How egg burst out?
Got confused?: You are getting yourself confused. Clomid (clomiphene) is not an 'estro receptor' at all; it is mainly an estrogen receptor antagonist, but it has pro-estrogenic actions in some tissues and anti-estrogenic actions in others. Women on Clomiphene do mostly have an lh surge; not surging means the Clomiphene dose was likely too low. ...Read more
