Are Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) and Adderall used together in some patients? I've heard this is done for some ppl who don't work well with Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) alone?
Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) & adderall r: Both stimulants used to treat ADHD, and may both b prescribed to the same pt though its more common to see only 1 stimulant type used in a single pt. vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) is a derivative of Dexedrine, while adderall is amphetamine salt. Keeping below total daily recommended doses would require converting one to another, which could lead 2 incr errors or a more complex med regimen. Talk 2 ur doc re: best tx 4 u ...Read more
Is there a strong diff between strattera (atomoxetine) and stimulants, can it work as equally well?
A difference? Sure: This is my opinion (others will disagree) - all drugs have a big element of expectancy working for them. It's not a con, it's not making a fool of anyone, it's part of how our body works. So, it can work. For some, not as well, for some about the same, for some better. From a reliable source w/ standards give it a try and decide. Work with a doctor, get help to wean, switch and evaluate. Not a diy. ...Read more

I've seen vitamin supplements marketed as "stress formula" - usually w/higher doses of B vitamins. Are these safe to use and do they work for stress?
Don't waste money!: There is so much false hype in marketing vitamins. No vitamins will have any effect on stress. If you eat a normal diet and not pregnant, you probably don't need vitamin supplements. But if you feel you might benefit, choose the cheapest multivitamin on the shelf and ignore claims like stress reduction, improved energy, immune system boosting, etc. ...Read more
Been on Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) 13ys. How do I discuss changing to a new stimulant add med that would work just as well ?
Ask your provider: Gently ask your physician if you could try one of the other medicines in the same class as adderall. Such as Ritalin, (methylphenidate) Provigil, or Nuvigil. Each person is different and the effectiveness of each drug varies with the person. Ask yourself, why do you want to change? Usually, a patient is trading one side effect for another. ...Read more

What medication(s) tend to work well with wellbutrin (bupropion) to improve symptoms of ADHD (i.E., lack of focus, scattered energy)?
Perhaps: Choline is a precursor to acetylcholine. It is categorized with b vitamins which are essential as co-factors in the conversion of many neurotransmitters which affect concentration. One of the best supplements I have found to help with concentration/add is l-theanine as it blocks the key excitatory neurotransmitter and helps with focus. It has no upper limits of doseage and is safe to use in kids. ...Read more
Is garcinia cambogia really effective and safe as some people have claimed it to be? Does it help with depression and anxiety as well as weight loss?
Doesn't seem so: Garcnia cambogia is an ingredient in some herbal weight loss, appetite suppressant, and energy products. An analysis of data found a possible short-term weight loss effect (under 1 kilogram). But liver toxicity—led to one preparation being withdrawn from the market. Another controlled study showed it no better than placebo. There is nothing i can find that shows help for anxiety or depression. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Clear care and biotrue contact solution don't seem to mix well together. Any evidence that supports this?
Duh: Clear care is a peroxide based system and bio-true is an all-in-one system. They are very different and should not be mixed. Use one or the other per the manufacturer's instructions. ...Read more
