Vitamins Recommended For A 40 Year Old Woman
Calcium and vitaminD: I feel that the benefit of multivitamins may have been exaggerated over the years. No trials have demonstrated clear benefit as far as mortality. There is a benefit for certain types of macular degeneratio. I feel that the most critical supplements for any post menopausal woman is that if calcium and vitamin d.Both contribute to maintaining bone density. You should take 1200mg/d of cal +800iu vd/d. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

It depends...: This depends a lot on what your diet is like, exposure to environmental toxins, genetics etc. Vitamins are no substitute for a healthy diet, but for most i advise a quality multivitamin, ideally with natural e (avoid synthetic e) & the 5-mthf form of folate, (folic acid) without additives like titanium dioxide or polyethylene glycol.Additional vit. C, about 1, 000 mg 2x/day is wise too, as well as d.See comment:. ...Read more

Possibly ok ...: ...but maybe not the best. Most multiple vitamins are probably safe, but vary considerably in potency, bioavailability, & composition. multivitamin guide.org rates this vitamin at 95/100 (1 is best!). Good luck! ...Read more

High serum calcium: A serum calcium (c) level of 10.7 is high for anyone. I would repeat it, as you may have been dehydrated. If you were not, you need to have an endocrinologist (e) work you up to find its cause. Conditions that can cause a high c are hyperparathyrodism, hyperthyroidism, sarcoidosis, among others. See an e and get the answer as to why your c is elevated. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
