Possibly: We don't know the long term effects of hormones. You have gilbert's condition due to a pile up of bilirubin (ask your doctor) and your vitamin d level is appallingly low. It should be between 60 and 80. :your cholesterol/hdl ratio is O.K.

How do I increase my HDL cholesterol levels to protect myself?

Risk Factors: Several known risk factors for heart disease are also associated with low HDL cholesterol. Smoking, inactivity, obesity, all are linked to low HDL cholesterol, and improving on these can raise the HDL cholesterol. Exercise, smoking cessation and weight loss all may improve the risk of heart disease, and whether this is related to increased hdl, or just a marker of these interventions is unclear.

Dietary Changes 1st: An HDL over 60 is cardioprotective. Increase intake of monosaturated fats like olives, olive oil, avocado and most nuts esp walnuts will help but remember these are high calorie foods so only a small amount. A fish oil 1, 000mg to 3, 000mg omega3 is also great. Plant sterols/stanols help-a spread in the grocery store called 'benecol' can raise HDL using 1 or 2 tsp instead of butter or margarine.

How can a vegetarian raise their hemoglobin, hemotocrit and HDL cholesterol?

Seriously sick: Exercise is the key to improving your vascular health if your HDL turns up low. The cause of your anemia needs to be found and addressed. If you are a vegetarian and you do not supplement, you will ruin your health. Iron deficiency will disable you, and anemia due to B12 deficiency is often late, with the brain damage having already begun. A competent physician or dietician can tel you what to do.
