Depends: If you look at any multivitamin bottle, there will be a rda (recommended daily allowance) for the different components. There is very little evidence out there that surpassing rda will treat or prevent any disease. Not cause, but....: It's a really important deficiency to correct as well and soon as possible. here are links to depression reported and even to thought disorders, but all mental symptoms can overlap and if anxiety is a tendency for you, a D deficiency might contribute to you feel that way. Yes.: An important function of vitamin d is to stimulate the absorption of dietary or supplemental calcium by the small intestine. If no calcium is consumed this effect of vitamin d will be absent. It is not necessary to take the calcium and vitamin d at the same time. NO: Vit. D is remarkably safe & sleepiness is not a known side effect. Side effects are very rare unless one takes toxic doses. I did find some reports of anxiety experienced by some after taking vit. D which is apparently a sign of magnesium deficiency remedied with magnesium. It's possible for someone to be allergic to fillers & binders in supplements so if it makes you sleepy try a different form. ...Read more

"Correct" level of vitamin D are quite arbitrary - usually given as 30 but as low as 15 may be fine. Some recent studies also suggest higher levels may even be harmful. High calcium: This is probably not MS. The symptoms are not that particular to MS. Calcium levels should be normal in MS. How high is your calcium level? That can lead to several of these symptoms.
