Hi Dr. , i have gout and vitamin D deficiency, can i take GNC's triple cod liver oil daily ?

Yes...: While I wouldn't expect the fish oil to treat or improve your gout or vitamin D deficiency, I don't thinking taking this supplement once a day would be harmful for these conditions. There might be some gastrointestinal side effects such as heartburn or bloating associated with this supplement, however. Including fish in your diet may be an even better choice. Good wishes! ...Read more

D2 is produced industrially from yeast or mushrooms. D3 is produced industrially from its precursor substance, dehydrocholesterol, in wool grease (lanolin) from sheep or other woolly animals. I'm taking Ginkgo Biloba+Ginseng combo daily. Can I add Cod Liver Oil (Vitamin D) to it? Are there any risks?

Depends: As long as you are not on anticoagulation ginkgo and ginseng can be taken with limited issues. Be careful with cod liver oil as while it may provide vitamin D and vitamin A, there are better sources of vitamin D. Vitamin A is a particularly finicky vitamin where too much and too little really can create problems, so it much benefit you to avoid supplementation without a known deficiency. ...Read more
