Pregnant/delivered ?: Thyroid hormine effects brain development & OB screening may pick up low levels. A fetus at 10wks is very early in brain cell formation which accelerates & peaks about 18 wks. Your OB can help you get into balance by then and things should go fine.Discuss this & other lab results with the OB &/or the staff. Take it later: Hi. Both of those drugs are nice in that they have a long half-life. Therefore, if you forget a dose, take it when you think of it. Try not to miss your medications. If you miss the once weekly vitamin D, take it when you think of it and resume normal schedule. If you miss a day of Synthroid, take 2 the next day; miss 2 days, take 3 the following day. ALDH is seperate: Limit alcohol as your risk for cancer is increased. Hypothyroidism can affect digestion and absorption which can promote deficiencies. B12 def can also affect your thyroid function. Consider gluten sensitivity also as this can tie in. ...Read more

High PTH: Once you had a high PTH level, did your doctor give order any diagnostic work up for it? If so, you should know which of your parathyroid glands is the cause. You need to see a surgeon for a possible parathyroidectomy if your PTH is high and your have symptoms. Your hypothyroidism is not connected to your high PTH level. Your vit d level may be low due to the high calcium seen with your high pth. ...Read more
