Vitamin C To Stop Period
Vitamin C & period: No, taking vitamin C will not have any effect on your period. If you want to stop your period for some reason, the most effective way is to take progesterone or extend your birth control pills over the placebo row. Please ask another question if you're not sure what I mean. ...Read more
Can too much vitamin C (3000 mg one day and 2000 the next), cause period to be more watery than usual?
Should not, but...: Much to much c! no one needs more than 300mg/day. Vitamin c is not essential for human life. The details of which will bore you. However, people taking the dose you are taking in several studies have greater mortality than those ingesting less. It also will not prevent the cold. Myths abound. Also, not related to induction of a period! ...Read more

This month my period is a very light color. More of a pinkish color. Is this normal. I've been taking hairfinity/vitamin C 4 two weeks now.
Not related: I don't think taking the Hairfinity vitamins has anything to do with your period. The ingredients are vitamin C (as you mention) along with calcium, some B vitamins, hydrolyzed collagen and the herb horsetail! It is normal for there to be less blood intermixed with vaginal secretions some months. I wouldn't worry about this. Good wishes:) ...Read more
My period was supposed to start yesterday and it didn't. I have been taking a lot of vitamin c because this usually starts my periods. But it has not.
Some thoughts...: In a woman with regular periods, some causes of a late period include: excessive weight loss or weight gain, increased exercising, emotional stress, having an illness, traveling, medicines (like birth control pills), hormonal imbalances, etc… Seeing a doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent, recurring, or worrisome. Pregnancy is the common cause of a missed period, if sexually active. ...Read more
Is it true that large doses of vitamin C may naturally induce an abortion and/or cause an early period?
My last period, I took high dose of vita C I was told it would jump-start my period cuz it was light, now I'm a few days late for my new period, could the high doses of vitamin c during my period last month thrown off my cycle?
Not by much,: I don't think. Your body is such a finely integrated machine that I would be reluctant to say it couldn't have ANY affect. Just like even minor illnesses, disruptions in sleep, travel and stress can all impact your period. But water soluble vitamin C, for which any excess is flushed out of your system, should not have had much of an impact. I suggest normal cycle variability. Stay well:) ...Read more
What foods or anything can I take or do to jumpstart my period? I've heard of vitamin C and warm baths?
Wives' tales: To my knowledge, there's nothing save for hormones that can provoke a period. If vitamin c and warm baths provoked period, we would likely use that over hormones, like progesterone. If you want greater control over your period, best is to take a birth control pill. With that you can skip a period by taking the last week of placebo pills. Best of luck! ...Read more
Any home remedies for "inducing" a period and making it come earlier than scheduled? Rumored: extra vitamin c, green tea, ginger, masturbation?
See answer: Scientific backing for claims that certain herbs and foods can induce a period is lacking; however, there is plenty of anecdotal evidence and folk wisdom suggesting that some foods can help start a late period naturally: vit c, ginger tea, parsley, celery, black cohosh, motherwort, dong quai, white peony, etc. Keep in mind that all herbs carry some risk with use and can interact with medications. ...Read more

Just one time delay?: If worried, doctor can check to see if there is any medical issue, if a woman has mild menstrual-related symptoms. My period is about ten days late think pregnant istart taking vitamin C pills in high dose will have an abortion?
My period was late so I induced one by taking lots of vitamin c. Started period 15 days ago now have light bleeding again with cramps. Is it a period?
You cannot induce: A period with vitamin c. Any of it that isn't immediately used is peed right out of your system. Stress; however, and diet are things that can cause periods to be a little squirrely. Could be ovulation pain or spotting, or you are finally having enough of a hormone burst to allow some tissue to flow. Make sure you are having protected sex (especially if you are worried about periods behaving!). ...Read more
Period late by a week, no pregnancy symptoms, 2 negative tests (clearblue digital) taking high dose vitamin c can that effect test or could I be preg?
Pregnancy unlikely: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, vaginal spotting, or medications. A test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a negative result may be due to testing too early such as less than 2 weeks after conception. ...Read more
