I'm getting my mom some vitamin B12 and some vitamin C and quercetin. The quercetin has 100mg of calicum in it with magnesium isit ok for parathyroid diease?
Think "sponges.": Dietary fiber, especially Metamucil, acts like microscopic sponges in the intestines. If there is diarrhea, fiber absorbs the extra liquid and gives more form to the stool. If there is constipation, it attracts more free water into the bowel to lubricate the stool. Either way, this extra roughage has a normalizing effect to the quality of stool form. ...Read more

I am trying to find supplements for sev. Osteoporosis, are vit k2, chia seeds, vit d3, vitamin C magnesium & calcium safe & beneficial for bones?
Yes: These are good choices. Some calcium & magnesium supps are much better absorbed than others- I like calcium citrate/hydroxyapatite & mag. Taurate/glycinate/citrate. Your dose of calcium & magnesium should be roughly equal. About 5000 units of d is good with 15 mg (not mcg) of vit k2. Consider strontium & boron. See www. Drdach. Com/wst_page6.Html. ...Read more
I take a multivitamin plus vitamin c, d, all b's with niacin and fish oil, calcium, red yeast rice, should I take the vitamin magnesium with these & why?
I don't like it.: Truth be told, I don't like combining Niacin with the red yeast rice as they can both have toxic effects upon the liver. I hope you're having your liver blood enzyme levels monitored on that combination. Adding Magnesium to all of this is not my concern as I don't see any issue in that as long as your doses of all these other medications are not excessive. ...Read more

Can I take vitafusion brand prenatal, and nature made brand vitamin c and spring valley brand biotin together everyday?
Probably: I can't really answer about the safety of taking those specific brands together because we really don't have enough information to accurately compare one brand against another. Manufacture of vitamins/supplements is not regulated; often they don't measure up to the label. OK to take prenatals, Vit C and biotic together; not sure you need last two. I would identify one "good" brand and buy/take those ...Read more

Is taking vitamin C bad when taken together with shrimps? A facebook post shows it could cause arsenic poisoning.
Possible mild risks!:
I'd never heard this & the claim made no sense to me- it had all the earmarks of a hoax. A quick search found many sites saying it's a total hoax, like this one that suggests vit c protects against arsenic poisoning: http://www. Hoax-slayer. Com/shrimp-vitamin-c-hoax. Shtml
however, http://www. Snopes. Com/medical/toxins/shrimp. Asp suggests vit c could pose mild hazards after eating shrimp! See comment:. ...Read more
I have been taking vitamin c and vitamin d together for a year, is it okay? Did I overdose myself? If so, how would I know?
Likely no: vitamin C is water-soluble, and acts as a free-radical fighter, helping to protect mitochondrial function. It is very hard to take too much to cause symptoms. The adverse effect of too much vitamin D is nephrocalcinosis, calcium deposition in the kidney, but that also is very rare. Almost half the population in the US have vitamin D levels which are not optimum. Get a 25-hydroxy vitamin D level. ...Read more

I am 23 years old and I have been taking vitamin d and vitamin c together for a year. Do these vitamins absorb good together?
Primary/best source: Nearly all vitamins: Food, Not pills, unless low in particular one. In food they are all mixed together, body absorbs what's needed, dumps rest. Thus focus on healthy high fat/protein, low carb non-processed foods (not pills) First, not pill adds. From human clinical trials, vitamin C intake >500 mg/day ↑es cardiovascular events & zero benefit for "colds", despite Linus Pauling's beliefs/promotion. ...Read more

My 13y/o daughter is a type1diabetic and diagnosis w celiac disease. Is it ok to include vitamin C together with her multivitamin?
I have heard to take vitamin d and calcium supplement together. Is it really bad if I do not? Because I only take vitamin d with vitamin c.
Vitamin therapy: Vit D is a fat soluble vitamin so it is best absorbed with a high fat meal and levels seem to do better if taken with supper. Vit C is water soluble and therefore excreted if you take too much at one time. Taking both together would probably decrease absorption of both so should be taken at separate times. Calcium would be better absorbed taken with Vit C since it is an acid ...Read more
