Dr. Joy M. Jackson answered:

When is the best time to take vitamins, such as vitamin B12 and Biotin?

As

As a general rule of thumb, it is better to take vitamins with a meal. This allows for better absorption. However this is not an absolute. In addition, remember to check with your doctor before taking any vitamins, minerals, or supplements in order to ensure that it won't interfere with any possible medications you are taking.

How long does it take for vitamins B12 and D to get into ones system and start to work?

Depends

Vitamin_b12
If you are taking vit D for bone issues, it can take quite a long time. IF for other reasons like chronic pain or soe of the other claimed benefits, ther eis no definitive time period. As far as B12, if for anemia, red blood manufacturing cycles may take a bit of time as well befor eyou see results. Dont let this stop you as long as you andsd your physician agree on the dosages.

Someone writing on the internet can put out any silly fantasy and make money doing it, as they appear very learned and caring. This one's just not true. Unlike these people, the scientific physicians in our community and on HealthTap are bound by law to tell the truth.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of vitamins B12 and Omega 3 ? And what is the proper dose everyday ?

Omega 3

A neurologist or psychiatrist may be better able to speak to the possible benefits and dosing of vitamin B12. From a cardiovascular standpoint, the strongest studies for fish oil (omega 3) suggest improvements in cholesterol profile when using 4 to 6 grams daily. Most over-the-counter fish oil is not FDA approved.

I m 20 yr old and from India. Can DEFICIENCY OF VITAMIN B12 & D3 cause seizures? and how to treat with deficiency of vitamins?

No

Open-uri20131124-1255-o401la
It is extremely unlikely that you could type a question or navigate an internet medicine app if you had B12 deficiency severe enough to provoke seizures. B12 supplementation is easy--eat animal protein at least once a day, or take a multivitamin daily. The multivitamin would also likely meet your Vit D daily requirement; if not, work with your doctor to correct this deficiency. Good luck!

This should not cause any concern at all if you are otherwise well. Some folks run a little bit high levels of the carrying protein.
