Vitamin B Complex Skin Benefits
Vitamin b complex caused me to break out in acne, after taking it for a year, how long will it take for my skin to improve? I've stopped taking it.
There's no telling: Trying to figure out what's causing one to have acne is futile. Ignore all "pop" ideas and start using topical benzoyl peroxide 1-2x daily, perhaps 5%. It's not pleasant but it's your best friend. If it doesn't clear you, your physician can add prescription strength Rx. My acne remitted when I was 50; yours will too, someday. Until then, manage it like the serious medical problem that it is. ...Read more
Hye. I want to ask. Can I take vitamin b complex when im on acne antibiotic for 3 month? . And can I take vitamin C as extra supplement for my skin?
Yes, and also...: No problem taking b complex and vitamin c while on antibiotics. I also strongly advise zinc, vitamin a & vit. E (make sure it is natural with mixed tocopherols), all proven to help acne. I also advise taking probiotics including sacchromyces boulardii to reduce imbalances in flora caused by antibiotics. Of course!: Vitamins are essential nutrients that our bodies need to turn calories into energy. Given the poor nutrient status of our food supply (think what a teenager eats), there is no one that I can think of that cannot benefit from some extra vitamins. More processed foods = increased need for vitamins. ...Read more

Apthous ulcers: I agree with dr. Ali -- b complex (which contains all "b" vitamins) may help. Also l-lysine, an amino acid, taken at 1000mg 3/day with meals may help. Some have also used lemon balm tea. Lemon balm (melissa officinalis) extract is additionally known to help cold sores (hsv-2). http://www. Ncbi. Nlm. Nih. Gov/pubmed/19023806. ...Read more
Yes: A multivitamin will seldom supply optimal levels of vitamin c, so I often advise that people take additional vitamin c. Some people will benefit from higher intake of b complex than many multivitamins provide and there is no danger in taking an additional b complex. There is no harm in taking lots of b's except limit b6 to 250 day. Excessive Folic Acid may be harmful- see my comment. ...Read more
Check levels: In two years you will be 40. Most people require a suppliment of d3 after age 40. B12 is often a problem but is replaced with a shot or a sub lingual form of the vitamin. Iron needs to be monitored with a blood tests. In short you can overdose on iron, vit b6, vit a, vit k, vit d, and vit e. Too much Niacin can cause liver problems. Ask your doctor's advice and to test your vit d and b12. ...Read more
Is it ok to take Vitamin B complex capsules regularly for a long time? Should I take the zinc ones or the non zinc ones?
Vitamins: There is seldom any need to take vitamin supplements in the USA with a balanced diet, but if you do take them follow the directions and do not take more than one each day and it will not hurt you. Zinc is the same. You can choose to do this or not. Very few people are zinc deficient. Good luck and stay healthy. ...Read more
Is 1000iu the daily dosage I should be taking (vitamin d3) I'm currently also taking vitamin b complex & panax ginseng. I'm 23.
It depends...: This depends on how much vit d you get from the sun. In spring & summer about 10 minutes of exposure to midday sun allows us to make enough d if you don't use sunscreen. In fall & winter months most adults need 5-8000 iu/day to achieve optimal levels of vit d. Testing your d levels can help you determine your needs. See http://bit. Do vitamin b complex & B12 energize or relax a person? . ..I've heard both! And how would this effect dosing times (upon waking vs close to bedtime)?
You have the wrong: Concept. Vitamins are catalysts that make the complex machinery in the brain/body work efficiently, their deficiency will give symptoms that have to be interpreted by an expert. You can't use them like taking an Aspirin for a headache because they are nutrients, not pharmaceutical drugs. ...Read more
