Is shaklee a trustworthy brand for dietary supplement such as omega 3, calcium, multi-vitamins, b-complex, vitamin c, so on?
My vitamin supplement has 12, 500iu of vitamin a. With 10, 000iu beta-carotene and 2, 500iu palmitate. Is that a safe amount?
Yes: One can safely take very large amounts of beta carotene as it is non-toxic. One can suffer adverse consequences by taking more than 10, 000 iu of the palmitate form a day though toxicity is rare unless one ingests at least 25, 000 iu.Day for several months so 2, 500 iu is quite safe. S it fine to take glutathione 500mg,milk thistle extract 100mg, alpha lipoic acid 50mg, combined with d alpha tocopheryl acetate 400 iu?
Analysis: Why do you take all these items?. Where did you find such advice? Glutathione is a wonderful anti-oxidant, but does NOT cross into the brain, so of questionable value in bloodstream. Milk thistle extract has questionable benefit in most cases. Alpha lipoic useful in peripheral and central nerve disorders. You are far better off using mixed tocopherols, especially with gamma. Depends how you use : I'm guessing you're asking about topical application of all of those things. First i would consider making sure that you're taking some supplements internally, such as omegas, vitamin d, and beta carotene, they help heal skin from inside out. Tea tree oil will help heal infected skin. Vitamin e moisturizes skin, and vitamin c helps add antioxidants to skin, which may reduce scarring. ...Read more
No: Macronutrients are carbohydrates (sugars and starches), lipids (fats) and proteins. Vitamin d is none of these; it's a compound found in a few foods, but mostly made in your skin when you are exposed to sufficient sunlight. Your body uses vitamin d in many ways. Macronutrient use by your body is somewhat simpler. Carbs are for fuel. Fats are for energy storage. Proteins are building blocks. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Ca and D: Why are you taking all that junk? What do you think it will do for you? How will you know if it's working? What deficiency are you treating or what disease are you trying to prevent? There's no scientific evidence that any of that will help you except for good calcium in your diet and about 2000 units of d a day. Could you take prenatal vitamins that contain biotin, choline, inositol, and fumaric acid name of vitamin brand nordic berries?
I do not: Like the formula. They contain 9 grams of carbohydrate and the amount of thiamin (as are the doses of all the vitamins) is too low to metabolize that amount of carb. You can look it up on line. This expresses an incredible ignorance of industry in vitamins and foods. In pregnancy, first you need a pristine diet and the vitamin supplementation should be ordered by your ob/gyn. ...Read more
