What are options following optimal debulking for gr. 1 stage 3c endometrioid ovarian ca? Carbo/taxol? Aromatase inhibitor? Other? Clinical trials?

I would not use arimidex. 2nd line drugs include cisplatin, taxotere, doxil, gemzar, avastin, (bevacizumab) topotecan etc. ...Read more

Are vitamin b complex and omega 3-6-9 blood thinners ?

Are vitamin b complex and omega 3-6-9 blood thinners ?

Yes: Omega 3 fatty acids have a mild blood thinning property. You list pulmonary embolism as one of your conditions. It definitely wouldn't be enough anticoagulant to treat that very serious condition. B-complex does not have anticoagulant properties. If you are taking coumadin/warfarin, tell your doctor about all the medications and supplements you are taking. ...Read more

12 years post op rny, iron 20 & vitamin d at 10. Seeing a new dr that hasn't worked with deficient gastric bypass, is 325ferrous 3x and 2000d 1x okay?

12 years post op rny, iron 20 & vitamin d at 10. Seeing a new dr that hasn't worked with deficient gastric bypass, is 325ferrous 3x and 2000d 1x okay?

Nutrition!: A gastric bypass is a very complex nutrition situation. If your physician has not dealt with it much i would suggest asking for a referral to a nutritionist or a bariatric center. That being said, the dosage of iron is fda approved treatment for iron deficiency, and the vitamin d is a reasonable amount. You have many nutrient levels that should be monitored and carefully watched! ...Read more

Doctor is treating my low vit D, 15, high cal 10.6, and PTH 67 as secondary hyperpara.by me taking vit d and calcium, after 3 mo what will happen ?

Doctor is treating my low vit D, 15, high cal 10.6, and PTH 67 as secondary hyperpara.by me taking vit d and calcium, after 3 mo what will happen ?

Mixed hyperparathy.: Hi. Secondary hyperparathyroidism (HPT) due to low vit. D NEVER causes hypercalcemia. By virtue of the fact you have hypercalcemia AND elevated PTH, you probably have primary HPT (need 24 hour urinary calcium to confirm; could be FBHH). The low vit. D adds a degree of secondary HPT, but secondary HPT CANNOT CAUSE your hypercalcemia. 3 months of calcium and vitamin D will give HIGHER hypercalcemia. ...Read more
