Vision Deterioration Slowed With Glasses Contacts
Usually, vision deteriorates with time. Is it possible to somehow improve vision (w/o glasses, contacts, or surgery)? I'm in my 30s. Thank you.
Not really: Both glasses and contact are corrective devices for vision correction. It help a person to see clear by correcting refractive error. A person's vision could change with time or under certain conditions. Then the person will need to adjust his/her correction with new glasses or contact lenses. ...Read more
Extra correction!: Unless you have specifically undercorrected with both your contacts and glasses, you essentially doubly correct for your eyesight problem. This does not give you twice as good vision as balanced vision for near and far sight requires specific adjustments. The optical effect with this combination would be much better than glasses alone. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Possibly: If the reason for your worsening vision is a change in the refraction which is the optical correction available in new lenses, then that is all you need. If the change is due to pathology in the eye, new glasses might not help. Your ophthalmologist can help you find the difference between these two and give you assistance. ...Read more
My eyes always feel dry with contacts in why? Also my vision is not as clear with my contacts as it would be with my glasses... What could this be?
Dry eyes: Wearing contact lenses successfully generally requires very normal ocular surface, normal tearing & resident moisture, properly fitting eyelids with normal oil gland function, and proper handling and caring of the contact lenses. Prescriptions do change and therefore may need adjustment. Some people just can't get enough tolerance to wear contacts long enough and successfully. See an eye MD 4 help ...Read more
My peripheral vision is better when I wear glasses instead of monovision contacts. Why would that be?
Monocular vision : The convenience of being fitted in monofocal contacts is to lessen need for glasses, at the compromise of reduced stereopsis (binocular vision). However I find improvement in peripheral vision when wearing contacts for optimum distance (binocular) vision, versus glasses. Each contact lens individual determines whether the reduction of stereopsis is satisfactory for their daily functions. ...Read more
