HPV: Human papillomavirus (known as hpv) is a very common sexually transmitted infection. There are many types of this virus and some are associated with genital warts. There are multiple cancers, especially cervical cancer in women, associated with the virus--though these cancers do not directly arise from the genital warts. Talk to your doctor about screening tests and hpv vaccines that are available. ...Read more

Genital Warts (Definition)

Genital warts are warts with a raised, irregular, flesh colored appearance and can be found anywhere throughout the genital area. The medical term for them is condylomata accuminata and they are caused by certain subtypes of the human papilloma virus (HPV). They are mildly contagious by direct genital contact but are NOT a risk for cervical cancer (which is caused by other subtypes of HPV). Can the viruses that cause genital herpes, genital warts, and molluscum contagiosum also cause bumps on the face or lips?

Yes: The virus you mentioned can affect the skin anywhere in the body. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. If I have the job virus that had caused cervical cancer, not warts, can my husband still  be at risk for genital warts?

If I have the job virus that had caused cervical cancer, not warts, can my husband still  be at risk for genital warts?

Yes: Assuming "job" is a mispelling for "same" or "hpv". The virus that causes genital warts does overlap with the virus that causes cervical cancer. There are different strains of the same virus and the strains most likely to cause cervical cancer tend not to produce as many warts and the strains that cause visible warts in men are a bit less likely to cause cervical cancer. ...Read more

I was exposed to an ex that had genital warts. I heard u can b exposed and not break out or break out later. the virus stays about 2 years. true?

Big picture: Let's think about this. Everybody's got a few strains of HPV on board. Hopefully you're immunized against those that can cause cancer; even if you're not, your regular pap smears will prevent their serious consequences. The non-cancer-causing HPV strains at worst cause warts that can be lasered off easily. The key is that you shared / recovered love. That's far more precious. I'm glad for you both ...Read more

Genital warts virus, is it possible to completely cut it off?

Genital warts virus, is it possible to completely cut it off?

No: I prefer not to use words like "cut it off" and "genital" in the same sentence, but i'll assume you're referring to the virus, not the body parts. You can get rid of warts but not the hpv virus, which causes the. There's always the chance that they'll come back. ...Read more
