Viral Dermatitis Painful Pressure Redness
Painful, itchy rash on palms of hands & soles of feet, followed shortly by acute infection of 1 eye (treated) but rash persists. Herpes Zoster?
Painful skin infection on ears neck face arms chest & back. Open wound type rash. Constant draining burning itching. Tests ruled out staph. What is it?
3yo w/ear infection on antibiotic drops fever pain resolved very small area of pink behind upper ear no swelling. Mastoiditis?
Could be either: Try cool compresses, artifical tears, and an allergy medicine such as zyrtec or allegra (fexofenadine). If it's viral, it will clear up on its own in a few days. If it doesn't, you should see your doctor. Also see your doctor if you wake up with goop in your eyelashes making them feel like they are glued shut. This can indicate a bacterial infection. ...Read more
I am experiencing skin rash (quality: itchiness, blisters, flaking or scaling) . : Skin redness or irritation. Not contagious.
Rash 3 weeks Original rash looks like it's healing but skin around it is red and raised with tiny clear fluid blisters ?
Sound like a burn: Your symptoms are suggestive of a burn, or sunburn, as in a 1st degree burn, where you have redness and blisters but no true deep skin damage. It is typical for a rash to clear and have blisters left over; they are tiny areas of inflammation fluid left over from the active rash process. It sounds like it is resolving. If it persists are recurs, you should probably see a dermatologist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Feet are blistering athete feet like, burning and itchin blister are pop-up under the skin burning swellin, uncontrolable itching.
Well, : Well, you so seem to be describing athlete's foot, a topical fungal infection, although there are other skin disorders that could also cause itching and blistering, like contact dermatitis (an allergic reaction from something like a dye in a new sock, etc.). Usually fungal infections have a characteristic fungal odor, whereas contact dermatitis doesn't. If you're absolutely miserable, go see a dermatologist or podiatrist right away. But if you'd like to try something yourself first, you can try applying an over-the-counter anti-fungal cream like lamisil, lotrimin or tinactin (tolnaftate) 2-3 times a day and see if it improves. If it doesn't get noticeably better in a day or two, you need to see a doctor. Regardless of what it might be, and as hard as this advice might be to follow, it's very important to not scratch! scratching will only inflame the area and in the case of fungal infections, will only cause it to spread (and put fungal spores under your fingernails). If you do see an improvement in a day or two, it most certainly is a fungal infection. Fungal spores live for 30 days, so just because it clears up in a couple of days doesn't mean you should stop using the fungicidal cream. You should keep using the cream for at least 30 days to prevent recurrence. Hope this helps. Don't scratch, and good luck! ...Read more

Lacerated toe. Infected, swollen, red, radiating pain. Now, urge to urinate often and rectal discharge/itching. Coincidence or infection spreading?
Sounds awful: That sounds like a nasty toe laceration, and if infected it should be looked at by a primary care or urgent care Dr. who will see if it needs to be drained or consider antibiotics. A spreading infection can lead to fever, chills, spreading redness, fatigue then may lead to diarrhea, but what you're describing without the other symptoms I've mentioned is unlikely to be from a toe infection. ...Read more
Had cold: fever, sinus pressure, headache, runny nose. Now still coughing for 1.5 months w mucous. Viral or bacterial infect? Need antibiotics? Which?
See your doc: A lingering cough after an urti can mean a sinus infection or reactive airways, such as asthma. You need to see your doctor to determine what the problem is. An antibiotic should help if there is a sinus infection but will not help if it is asthma. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

My nephew has a rash on buttocks and back of thighs. It's red and bumpy, he's 7. Can it be something viral?
Son had v.high temp & went to Dr yest. (dx viral). Has slight raised red spotty rash all over, thought related to temp but temp ok now. Should I worry?
If you wish..but no: A rash after a fever often represents the end result of the immune response to a viral illness. Antibodies made to capture and neutralize the virus do so and head to the skin surface because it is cooler. The antibody+virus then leak from capillaries into what you see as spots under the skin. While the virus circulates fever is up, removed=down. Pattern often suggests the type of virus. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have a painful bump under my left nostril it so red and hurts if any pressure is applied to it. I have no idea what it is or how to stop the pain ?
Abscess: You did not send a picture with this but what you describe sounds like a small abscess which is a part of the skin that has under it an infection. You can apply warm compresses to it to try to make it open and drain but you really should see a physician and get a culture from what is inside if possible and be started on antibiotics. I would go to an urgent care or your own MD ASAP. ...Read more

Is cuff on blood pressure monitor suppose to squeeze arm so tight to painful to bear? Making three red lines on my arm after. Can this be safe to use
Check your cuff: The sphygmomanometer may have settings that limit the maximum pressure. If your blood pressure is always 150/90 or less for example, you may be able to tell you cuff to only go up to 170 (rather than 200 mmhg). This would make it more tolerable. Either way it is not likely to be dangerous. ...Read more
