New SSRI's: Both viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) and Brintellix are technically ssri's, but they affect more serotonin receptor types than others. Brintellix was just approved in the us in october, but the company claims it may help the cognitive problems of depression more than others, and also have less sexual side effects. It has different side effects than the others so might benefit people who didn't tolerate others well.
