Would Ultram (tramadol) ease hydrocodone withdrawals?

Would Ultram (tramadol) ease hydrocodone withdrawals?

Controversial: There are studies on both sides of this issue, with some researchers finding that tramadol did reduce withdrawal, while others finding that it either did very little, or in some cases actually made it worse. A problem is that doses of ultram in the therapeutic range (300-400 mg/day) can cause seizures. My patients have told me mostly that ultram did very little for them, but a few got + results. ...Read more

How addictive is marijuana?

Depends: An addiction is a brain disease. It causes a person to engage in behaviors which may lead to dire consequences. Average detox from opiates. Oxycodone specifically.

Average detox from opiates. Oxycodone specifically.

Hard to give an AVER: So many variables that you haven't provided information on but if I were to just shoot from the hip and throw out a number, I'd say you're looking at 3 weeks before you'll start feeling back to some semblance of normal once you start the process. The first few days may be rough and most will say are the roughest...but again, depends how you handle the pullback. Is this supervised or on your own? ...Read more

Fioricet with codeine (acetaminophen butalbital caffeine and codeine) on drug test, will I pass?

Fioricet with codeine (acetaminophen butalbital caffeine and codeine) on drug test, will I pass?

No: it contains, obviously, codeine which will show up as an opiate (and is also metabolized into morphine). It also contains a barbiturate, bultalbital, which will also show up as positive. I would worry more about using drugs when you are subject to drug testing, and the level of severity of your drug problem, as you do about getting caught. ...Read more

I have adderall, xanax, (alprazolam) alcohol, and nicotine addiction - how best to quit?

Multiple addictions: To begin with you mentioned two legitimate therapeutic drugs and then two social drugs that you're addicted to. Booze ; nicotine are both serious addictions but both have very different approaches. Too much to go into here. Adderall and xanax (alprazolam) are very different drugs. If they're being prescribed legitimately you need to talk to your doctor and be honest. Good luck again much too much cover. ...Read more
