I put Vicks liquid vapor in my 9 month old humidifier now sometimes she has a cough that makes her gasp for air. Or could it be my moms smoking ?

Needs investigation: Chronic cough in a young child that is waking them up needs investigation. If it is not an infection, it could be an inhaled foreign body (i've seen toy parts, foods, etc). But why?: Interesting question. According to poison control, no. But the ingredients are camphor and menthol both of which have been used in cooking for centuries. It appears that doses of 50 mg camphor are safe ( way more than would be fond in cooking) 2000 mg will likely produce serious symptoms and 4000 mg is possibly fatal.
