Hot steam vaporizers are not recommended around children at all due to the risk of burns. The vicks doesn't "cure" the cold, and isn't necessarily effective. Yes: Room temperature and humidity are two different things. It is e to have your ac on and still use a humidifier. Just don't get the rooms too cool or too hot when baby is sick.
