Do vibrating weight loss machines work?

They Don't: There is no evidence from controlled clinical trials that these machines work. If you want to lose weight you need to: 1. Do daily exercise for at least 30 minutes, at an intensity sufficient to make you short of breath (get cleared by your doc first) 2. Does a vibrating weight loss machine help w/ weight loss if watching what your eating / working out? Does it help with circulation in legs/arms?

Jury is still out: There's not enough peer-reviewed published data regarding total body vibration and it's (long-term) effects on the human body. In the US, the trouble is that we have too much..sodas, juices, pizza, donuts, brownies, cookies, truffles, ice cream, lattes, beers/liquor, and the evil of chips... So, be sensible. Stay healthy. Good luck. ...Read more

I used to have back pain. Can I use the stepper machine to lose weight?. Or is it harmful for my back?

I used to have back pain. Can I use the stepper machine to lose weight?. Or is it harmful for my back?

Yes: A stepper machine should be fine, especially if progressively increased in difficulty. For my patients with back/joint pain, i generally recommend avoiding impact activities such as running. Unfortunately, any activity has the potential for causing pain, but in most cases the pain does not mean that any damage is being done. See your physician if you are unable to exercise without severe pain. ...Read more
