Few if any: Doxy: most side effects we've experienced are nausea. Accutane: most side effects we've experienced are dry skin and headache. However, dry skin after use of Accutane should be seen as 'normal'. Because it decreases/controls the function of sebaceous glands which leading to the control of acne. Depression is very rare. YES: Typical course of Accutane is 5 months. Usually the acne is clearing by the 3rd month. At that time you no longer need the doryx (doxycycline). Most people prefer the generic Doxycycline in a low dose because it costs so much less than the brand "doryx (doxycycline)". Most people need little or no treatment after a course of accutane. The brand "accutane" has been dropped and replaced by generic isotretinoin. ...Read more

This is very specialized treatment and your Dermatologist must have explained to you the potential side effects of it. Please follow her/his advise. This one is a short course of 6 months or so.
