Very Sticky Stool
For about two years I've had chronic pruritus - for various reasons I suspected PBC. For past months I've had very sticky stools, and tested positive for blood in stools, though color is normal. I'm vegetarian so less fat in diet than average. I'm now
Gastroenterologist.: Since you have been found to have blood in your stool, it is vital to see a gastroenterologist ASAP. While you are there, you can discuss your symptoms that may be related to PBC. A simple blood test could determine if that is likely. Do not delay getting your blood in the stool checked out! Good luck.
I have very dark brown sticky stool, I also suffer from diverticular problems which at present is ok but I am very constipated is this ok?
If: Their is blood in the stool, it requires evaluation. Without blood the color of a stool is not clinically significant and is usually a reflection of the diet consumed
Probable stool mucus: Mucus discharge occurs in up to 50% of patients with irritable bowel syndrome, with or without pain. Mucus may also be produced in response to partial obstruction, chronic constipation, rectal dysfunction, infection, & even from secretory villous tumors of the rectum. At the very least stool studies should help address if stringy mucus you may be seeing is "worms" (pinworms, etc.) so rx can begin.
Lately I have been having a sticky clear substance on my stools. What could this be, and is this serious? It looks almost like mucus.
Mucus or? On stool: Mucus discharge occurs in up to 50% of patients with irritable bowel syndrome, with or without pain. Mucus may also be produced in response to partial obstruction, chronic constipation, rectal dysfunction, infection, &even from secretory villous tumors of the rectum. But you're not sure if the substance seen is fat or pus so at the very least blood/stool studies & further evaluation is warranted.
I have dark brown, sticky stools. Also am bulimic. Should I be concerned as it is hard to wipe clean as it is like an frosting consistency?
Bulimia IS a concern: Whether you've been Dx'd or just see it as a problem - it should be corrected as the effects can be serious - see a Eating Disorder therapist! But the stool might be related to foods you eat and/or gluten or lactose intolerance or other conditions. Here's info: http://articles. Mercola. Com/sites/articles/archive/2013/02/14/normal-stool. Aspx Washing like a bidet will help and have an exam.
Every 2/3 weeks I have thick mucous in and around my stool. It's sticky, quite thick, and has the consistency of rubber cement. What is it?
Human Glue Factory: Mucus in the stool is a normal lubricant for passage and ejection but grossly visible amounts indicate some form of irritation or inflammation, unless this is just a normal variance for you. The serious causes are usually accompanied by some pain or cramps and maybe some blood. The consistency of the mucus has a lot to do with hydration. Do you take enough fluids?? See someone about this problem.
I had trouble covering the groove for the fecal immunochemical test because my stool is very non-sticky. Will this make the results invalid?
Maybe..: For the test to work, you need to deposit an adequate amount of feces. If you have a difficulty or if the test result comes back negative and your physician has a reason to expect a positive result, then you may ask to have the stool sample submitted directly to the lab.
2 month old daughter had chalky white streaks in her stool, which was very dark/deep green colour& was very thick and sticky. What could be wrong?
Baby poop: Dark green thick and sticky sounds like normal baby stool. White chalky stool by itself is Never normal in a baby and can be a sign of a bowel blockage. How is he acting? Feeding well? Is he cranky or in any pain? How does his tummy look? Like its usual? Or is it swiollen? If he is eating well and in no pain, I'd see how the next stool looks. If there is any white in it, bring him 4 visi

When I urine something sticky stuff coming along with urine and when pass hard stool white stuff coming through. Why very worried I'm 29 years old man
Recently, my stool is very sticky and I must push long and hard to expel, & then the remaining stool is loose & watery. I have no change in my diet.?
Get a scope: If you haven't already see your doctor for a colonoscope and further testing to ensure you don't have anything else in your intestines. As bowel movements can vary at your age its best to rule out other disorders first. Good luck
Water and Fiber: Constipation is usually the result of too little water, too little fiber or both. If you have no other medical problems, try increasing your water intake to one liter (about 2 regular sized bottles) a day. Research foods that are high in fiber. MIRALAX (polyethylene glycol) could also be added daily in the meantime.
My four month old son just passed a dark grey stool that was very mushy and kind of sticky. Is this okay?
Normal: The stool color is provided by the bile from the liver that is adds to fecal debris. It starts out a deep green & slowly changes thru greens to yellows to browns as the germs in the intestines metabolize the bile. Green generally means the stool in question moved through faster or was subject to less change by gut germs.
In stool, can blood present itself as little solid pieces, or is it always a sticky or liquid consistency?
Varies: This can vary with the site of bleeding. If from upper GI tract may simply present as black stools, if from terminal portions of colon may be bright red blood. If in between, almost any type of presentation may occur, including clots which can appear similar to what you have described.
