Rash: This term is a layman's expression for anything occurring on the surface of the skin. You must describe the nature of the lesion and the history that goes with its occurrence to begin to diagnose it, and without actually seeing it, it is impossible to diagnose. It would be very atypical for herpes to appear like this. ...Read more
I had herpes type 1 and 2 test which came negative. After 2 months I have itchy and mild testical pain. I'm worried any one please tell me what is wrong?
Oral herpes is a viral infection from the herpes simplex virus. It usually starts as one or more blisters that break and leave a grey, cratered painful ulcer. It can occur anywhere in the mouth, and like any viral infection, may be accompanied by fever and muscle aches. They are sometimes mistaken for canker sores (aphthous ulcers), which are not caused by a virus.
See your dentist to be sure. ...Read more
I think, I have an anal hemorrhoid. The Pain is mild and slightly itchy. I was tested and neg for herpes after 3mth from exposure. Could it be Herpes?
Ex partner had herpes. I'm experiencing swollen l-nodes in groin, itch & tingle (all mild) but many Drs won't test unless visible lesions. What to do?
Symptoms not herpes: Herpes sores often itch, tingle, or cause inflamed lymph nodes, but by themselves, these don't suggest herpes. That said, Public Health Canada has a head-in-sand attitude about HSV blood tests, which therefore aren't done frequently. In my opinion, you should be tested because of exposure, but not because of your symptoms. However, my bet is you weren't infected and your test would be negative. ...Read more
Herpes simplex: Herpes simplex in the genital area may cause no symptoms in some people. In others, a few weeks after being exposed to herpes a person may develop fever, muscle aches ; pains, headache ; swelling of groin lymph nodes. The lesions may be preceded several days by itching ;/or pain. They start as red bumps which then develop into blisters. When the blisters break open they ooze fluid or bleed. ...Read more
I was recently (3 weeks) diagnose with a mild case of genital herpes. I am an athlete and just started training again. I feel very weak.?
Herpes: Genital herpes is socially overblown virus infection. If one has a cold sore on the lip there is no social stigma. It is same family of viruses. Both will give mild flu like symptoms. Large dose of vitamin c, (4x500 mg a day) vitamin d 50, 000 units a day for 3 days will commonly get you over it ...Read more
If my first outbreak of genital herpes was very mild, that means that the recurrence are going to be mild or I will not have recurrence at all?
Typically: Typically the first outbreak of herpes is the worst, and subsequent outbreaks are lesser intensity or painless shedding of virus. A person might, as you say, never have an outbreak again. I see women who don't even know they have herpes because they've never had an outbreak. Safe sex practices are the best to make sure that you don't spread herpes. If you do have an outbreak, take acyclovir. ...Read more

Is acyclovir safe to take in first month of pregnancy? I had herpes zoster mild took acyclovir 5 times a day for 5 days 800mg. I'm now pregnant?
Probably fine: Acyclovir is technically pregnancy category c, meaning formal studies on the affect on human pregnancies have not been done. There is some data in the literature that shows no risk. But it is still not widely recommended. That being said, if the risk outweighs the benefits then one should be treated. Please discuss this with your OB doc. ...Read more
Herpes? I've had off and on mild itchiness (my doctor thought was just irritation from scratching) and I had a sore from scratching (healed in a week)
HSV 1&2 EVALUATION: It may be HSV2 or 1 Genitally, it can be transmitted via oral sex. HSV LESIONS TEND TO BE PAINFUL. See your doctor with next flare and get labs checked. Acute flares of HSV RESPOND TO FAMVIR&VALTREX. Most importantly to realize virus may be spread even without visible lesions. You need to have a frank discussion with past & present sex partners. Especially if they test-for HSV1&2. ...Read more

Got blowjob without condom. 30 hrs later I notice a pimple on my left upper thigh and 36 hrs since I have mild itching on my whole body. Is it herpes?
Unlikely: From this sexual encounter it is unlikely this is herpes. However, I can't rule out exposure in the past. Herpes usually develops blisters first that can become pustules. Also the itching all over, not a herpes thing. New herpes could cause penile itch, burning and flu like symptoms. ...Read more

Stevens Johnson: This is a form of toxic epidermal necrolysis, a life-threatening skin condition, in which cell death causes the epidermis to separate from the dermis. The syndrome is thought to be a hypersensitivity complex that affects skin and mucous membranes. Doubt you have this, but only an examining doctor can make that diagnosis. See them. ...Read more

More info?: We would need more information: what were the '6 tests'? Did you have a biopsy? Culture? Blood tests? All done by the same doctor? What type of doctor\dentist? We also would need to know your complete medical history. Sometimes it's hard enough having that all in front of you. Certainly impossible over the internet to give you a good answer. Have you seen an oral surgeon? Oral pathologist? ...Read more
I had very mild herpes zoster just 8 blisters and I am cured now my pregnancy test is positive now after 5 days of medicine. Can it affect the fetus?
Zoster: It should not affect the fetus. It is a reactivation of the virus that you have had since chicken pox (or the vaccine) in your youth. With shingles (zoster), the virus does not travel through the blood stream - it travels locally down a nerve and to the skin. If anything it will boost your immunity to shingles/chicken pox during pregnancy. ...Read more
Recent* sore lower back, enlarged groin nodes & itchiness + tingling in vagina area. No visible lesions, sores, etc. Is this mild herpes? What to do?
Unlikely: I think you are asking about oral sex. When herpes is transmitted in this fashion it usually produces a classic rash with blister-like lesions which break down and form small very painful shallow ulcers. This may be accompanied by fever, malaise, etc., but it sounds like you may have a cold. Depending on the type of oral sex HIV can reach the tonsils if ejaculate hits the throat. ...Read more
After full exam doctor diagnosed mild case of shingles on lower back. I'm still paranoid it was misdiagnosed and is herpes simplex - should I be?
Shingles: Shingles is part of herpes family of viruses so you don't need to be paranoid. You actually do have herpes. Herpes Zoster, specifically. The term Symplex really prefers to type one which is found in the mouth and type two which is found in the genitalia. However, these viruses are all essentially related and affect different parts of the body. ...Read more

Can u have genital herpes symptoms with no active sore. Have mild constant burning, GYN said everything looked normal. Maybe bubble bath irritated me?
My tonsils and subman nodes swell intermittently x 8 yrs answer mild sore throat. Negative for herpes, hiv. Any other poss causes?
Herpes? Allergy?: If this is only one sided -- always on the left or right, rarely or never on the other side -- I would still worry about herpes. If only swab testing was done, an HSV blood test might help. Otherwise, for a recurrent problem like this I would suspect an allergy of some sort. ...Read more
