Very Light Spotting Instead Of Period
Had period one week after unprotected sex. This month very light brown spotting instead of period. Negative pregnant test. Is this stress induced?
Some very light spotting and brown instead of period. Took 2 pregnancy tests, both came back negative. If I am pregnant i'd only 3 weeks. Still early?
Stopped pill and having extremely light spotting instead of period, light yellow colour and occasional large pale clots no real flow - any ideas?
Takes a while: It takes a while for your body to adjust to stopping the hormonal stimulation of taking the pill. Usually in 3-4 months your periods will straighten out and return to normal. If not see your doctor.
Not sure why.: The main reason for light periods is a change in hormone levels. Causes for what seems to be a light period can include: implantation bleeding in early pregnancy, thyroid problems, eating disorders, excessive exercise, initial periods for a girl, use of an intrauterine device, oral contraceptives & perimenopause.
Depends if pregnant: Cause for concern is very dependent on whether you are or may be pregnant. If you are pregnant then spotty bleeding is not normal and you should see your doctor. If you are not pregnant then there are a variety of reasons you may be spotting. If you are still having periods then spotting can be due to hormone changes or fibroids. Usually this improves with time. See your doctor if it does not.
Anovulation: Delayed periods can often be related to the failure to ovulate in a particular cycle. This may be related to age, ovarian dysfunction approaching menopause, medications someone is taking, or an underlying hormonal issue caused by a medical condition like diabetes, Insulin resistance, obesity, or polycystic ovarian syndrome.
If you haven't had a real period in 4 months but have light spotting but no sex what does that mean?
Causes of Period 6 days ago it lasted 5 days. Light spotting for 3 days then 1 day no then medium spotting for 1 day then no spotting?
Normal: Variation in your cycle due to hormonal fluctuations and variations. If bleeding is prolonged, please get a GYN exam.
If you are light spotting around time of period still haven't had one for 2 weeks and all test neg., is it to early to dectect or something else?
Not too early: Could be anovulatory cycle - meaning you didn't ovulate - or a late ovulation. If your periods are not regular, it might be worth doing a pregnancy test again. If you are usually regular and still negative, check with a doctor if the next period is missed too. Sometimes a period can be missed due to a persistent cyst from the cycle before; again a doctor can help.
Spotting: Irregular spotting is one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infection, polyps, fibroids and hormonal changes can cause spotting. There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. If you think you might be pregnant check then check a home pregnancy test.
Periods vary: This is within usual bounds of variability more with being young or old or changing hormonal treatments
Happens sometimes: Many women have occasional variation of their mucus discharge, spotting between periods, a heavier period, a lighter period, or a late or missed period. Causes include: excessive weight loss or weight gain, increased exercising, emotional stress, medicines, having an illness, traveling, birth control pills, hormonal imbalances, etc… an ob-gyn doctor can check, if one's symptoms keep recurring.
Female hormone: Fluctuations can cause light spotting, staining or heavy bleeding- please consult your GYN.
Not to worry: That is not unusual at all. I would not worry about that.
Pregnant?: Pregnancy is a possibility. Take a home pregnancy test. If negative, repeat it in one week. If it's still negative, see your doctor.
Spotting; pregnant?: The light spotting may be your cycle this month. No woman has completely predictable regular cycles all the time. But, of course the best way to find out is to check a home pregnancy test since some women do have spotting early in their pregnancy. Early pregnancy symptoms can feel a lot like premenstrual symptoms, so just take the test to be sure.
Is it normal to have light spotting 2 weeks before your next period after taking Plan B two step?
Yes: Spotting after taking Plan B is not unusual. You should still do a pregnancy test if your period doesn't come around when you expect it. Plan b is 89% effective, but that's not 100%.
