Dizziness: Moving bowels causes a parasympathetic nervous system discharge which dilates smooth muscle, among other things, and leads to a feeling of lightheadedness, almost like fainting. As for your lighter/softer bowels not my area of practice but could be a function of diet but should check for infectious or metabolic causes. Go see your primary. ...Read more

Pale stool : Pale stools are most often a reflection of your diet. What you eat is most definitely reflected in your stools. I would recommend a wait-and-see approach for the next few days. ...Read more

Stool color: Stool color can vary because of a lot of factors, most notably diet. It is generally not a concern unless the store is bloody or solid black in color, due to bleeding, or rarely very pale due to gallbladder problems. If it persists to be a change in your usual color despite eating your normal diet, you might mention it to your family doctor. Otherwise, it will likely return to normal. Good luck. ...Read more

My 28 days baby is having pale green poop? Is this normal?

Pretty common: The greenish color in stool is the breakdown product of the bile when it has not been in the gut long enough to go through a change to yellowish or brown. It is normal as is the loose consistency. Some digested material will take on a darker tint than others & the germs in the gut will also impact the final product. If whitish, I would have baby checked. ...Read more

Hello docs. I was wondering can too much milk cause pale yellow poop in toddlers?

NOT REALLY: Too much milk intake is not recommended after 1 year of age. They need more solid food. Give the toddler mixed balanced food. From 1 to 2 year, vitamin-d milk, then 2%, 8 ounces 2-3 times daily is enough. Bring the stool issue to the attention of toddler's pediatrician, bring some stool during next visit so that the doctor gets a look and comment. ...Read more
