Versalon Washcloth Medication
I get headaches every day and sometimes they can get pretty bad, what can help me? I've tried a cold wash cloth, tapping points, deap breathing, asprin, and other medications that claim to take away my headache
Hello. : Hello. There a variety of types of headaches and differing treatments. If you have not had your headaches assessed by a neurologist, i strongly recommend it. Especially since they are chronic, frequent and sever. The neurologist should be able to make specific recommendations. You could also ask the neurologist about medical acupuncture depending on the source of the headaches. ...Read more
A friend told me I could put a little vanilla extract on a wet washcloth and let my baby chew on it for teething relief. Is this okay?
Yes: A clean, cold, damp washcloth can be very soothing for a baby who is teething, and a little vanilla will improve the taste. Be sure the cloth is in good condition and not ragged, however; you don't want it to come apart in baby's mouth & maybe get inhaled. Keeping a few damp cloths in the freezer gets them as cold as possible, and gives you the opportunity to rotate them. ...Read more
Had a small newly raised freckle, looked normal besides being raised. When I used a washcloth in the shower it scratched it off? Is this dangerous?
No: This is most likely not dangerous. What you think was a raised freckle was more likely a skin tag, and they sometimes fall off with friction, especially if small in size. If it returns, or comes back and grows in size or changes features, then consider having it examined by your doctor. Best wishes. ...Read more

How long will it take the skin to heal from a magic eraser? I’m applying cold washcloth and aquaphor.
I doubt any of: us can answer that with certainty. I ruined some valuable leather couches trying to clean them with Magic eraser. It destroyed the leather- I can only imagine what it did to your skin. I think the healing time will be largely related to the amount and depth of tissue destruction that occured. ...Read more
Why would a nineteen year old boy refuse to whip with tolite paper and use washcloths instead? He has been doing this for the for the last 12 years.
I : I can not state what the 19 year old male's reason is. The best way to find out is to enquire from him directly. Some people do not get adequate removal of feces with toilet paper alone and for some people, it is painful to wipe with toilet paper. If one of these reasons is his motivation, you could let him know that there are moist disposable toweletts designed specifically for that purpose. ...Read more

My left ear is very painful and feels clogged. I took a damp washcloth to try and clean out my ears and there was very dark black gunk that came out.
Multiple causes: Multiple possible explanations. The "dark black gunk" could have been old earwax, or could have been an infection of the ear canal, both of which can cause pain and clogging. If the symptoms still did not resolve, try using an earwax softening drop overnight, or possibly Afrin/saline nasal spray in the left nostril to cover the possibility of simultaneous Eustachian congestion. I know infants aren't supposed to have water, 3mo. Old son likes to suck on clean, wet washcloth during bath-play. Is this ok or dangerous to kidneys?
What's the best way to clean a baby's teeth? I've seen those tiny toothbrushes that they sell for use on infants, but i remember my mom using a washcloth on my brother; i've also seen dental wipes. Are any of these methods more effective than the others?
I have a whole other take on how to clean a child's teeth based on my personal experience, and i strongly recommend it. By the way doctor fowler's answer is a good one. I like the oral b braun small brush head.
Here is what really works. Load your little power brush hear with a toothpaste with a flavor kids like, then insert your thumb into your child's cheek, your index finger on the outside of the lower jaw, and your middle finger under the jaw. You now have your child's head secure and no matter how they scream they can not chomp down and bite your fingers, and the more they protest the easier it is to get in and brush the teeth. With your other hand use the oral b braun to brush their teeth. Do this for two weeks every night and by that time they will just acquiesce and you job will be effortless after that. Three children later, trust me it works.

Used peroxide in left ear it was okay, did the right ear and now I have a earache. I just tried a warm washcloth on it nothing helped.
I hate peroxide : As a rule i tell my patients to 100% leave their ears alone. Qtips and peroxide should never be used in the ear. Both cause far more problems than they solve. In your case the skin of your right ear may have been inflamed and the peroxide made it worse or you might have had a small hole in your eardrum and the peroxide got into your middle ear space. Do nothing more to your ear and see a doctor. ...Read more

My 6 year old has sore, red eyes with yellow matter coming out of them. He has a cold, wet washcloth over them now. He also has seasonal allergies. ?
Hot water/soap/rinse: The rinse cycle is the most important aspect to rid any soap residue no matter what detergent. Well marketed products like dreft or the dye free versions of other detergents can be "feel good" infant clothes care products, however, reports prove that the others like tide, etc can be gentle if the rinse cycle is adequate. Hot water is important. ...Read more

I have had a boil the last few days now and I've been putting a warm wet wash cloth on it. I think it popped can I press on it to help?
No pressing: You've done the right things so far causing the abscess to drain. Pressing on it further could result in damage to the surrounding tissue causing the underlying infection to spread. Rule of thumb here is that an abscess (boil) adequately drained can rely on the body's healing processes to clean up the mess. If it continues to drain and/or show signs of continued infection see your doctor. ...Read more
