Probably not: Dichotomous earth in your guts will probably do very little to kill pinworms. Worms actually live in dirt. However you need to see your doctor soon, and have the dr. Refer you to see an infectious disease specialist. They are more adept at pinpointing which anti-parasitic regimen you need to be on, and for how long to get rid of the infestation. Likely safe: We use much higher doses for a long period to treat some conditions. However, I would wonder why it would be needed. An adult rarely gets pin worms, which is one of the few things this dose would treat. They also rarely get re-infected. However, some assume that an itchy bottom must be due to this agent, while there are many other possibilities. ...Read more

Same ingredient: Ovex and Vermox are both brand names of a drug uses to treat pinworms. Vermox has been discontinued in the US. I find a listing of Ovex in the UK, apparently not available here either. Mebendazole is not available in the US, so pyrantel preparations(Pin-X or Reese's pinworm) are available OTC (no prescription needed). Hope that helps ...Read more
