Why am I having bumps in veins in arms?

Why am I having bumps in veins in arms?

Multiple reasons: Veins return blood back to the heart and can carry a large volume of blood. Depending on many factors including levels of hydration, genetics, outside temperature and even physical activity, the size of the veins will vary. Veins in arms/hands appear more pronounced - why?

Loss of fat: Over the years, the subcutaneous fat in our body naturally atrophies. Think of the difference between the cheeks of a chubby baby and a 90 year old man. This is also true in the hands. Some physicians can perform sclerotherapy or ablation of hand veins to make them less noticeable - make sure to go to a vein specialist or phlebologist. ...Read more

I have carpal tunnel syndrome. When I do carpal tunnel exercises for it my veins my arms bulge out a lot. Why is this? How can I stop the bulging veins.

Don't stop them!: Therapy directed at the wrist and hands causes increased blood flow to the wrist and hands. If your veins didn't expand to transport all this extra blood back to your heart, then your hands would swell up and become painful. So what you're describing is a sign of an intact, functional circulatory system. Continue the recommended therapy and be proud of your working vascular system. ...Read more

Can it be normal to have very visible veins on arms, legs, and chest/breast even at 35? I'm pale and very thin. Petrified of vascular ehlers-danlos.

Veins can be seen: If you are pale and thin, you would be a typical person where veins could be seen in the areas you described and can occur even before age 35. If you are 35 and Ehlers Danlos has never been brought up to you previously by a medical professional there is less chance you have the condition. To relax further see your primary care or a rheumatologist. Good luck ...Read more

As I get older, I start to see more of my veins through my arms. Is that normal for a 25 yr old female?

Yes but not at 25.: As you get older your skin gets thinner and veins and small amounts of bleeding under the skin become more common and visible. I would expect this to occur in your 70's though. I suspect you are just more aware. Look at a picture of yourself from a year ago and see if there is any difference. If you don't have one, take one and look back at it in a year. I suspect no change. ...Read more

The veins in my arms and on top of my arms are very prominent with veins a blueish green color. I am female and 66. Sold I be concerned?

Not concerning.: The prominence of veins through the skin is affected by many factors including levels of hydration and dehydration, body temperature as well as outside temperature, medications and even levels of stress. Fair skinned people tend to have more easily visible veins than darker individuals and hereditary plays a strong role also. In a healthy person, visible veins are usually not of any concern. ...Read more

Am 35 years old. I have green veins on my arms and at the back of my thighs. What is causing them. Thanks?

Could be normal.: Does it look like either of your parents or siblings? Normal veins can be prominent and have this color, depending on your skin tone, muscularity, and amount of body fat. Age related changes, over time, can cause more prominent looking veins and veracose veins, usually on the legs, can develop. Show a doc to b sure. ...Read more
