Liz, every person's hand veins become more prominent with age. Normal veins feel "squishy". They easily move away when you push them. It's normal and not dangerous.

Veins often show either bulging or collapsing intermittently depending upon your hydration status or position of the extremity (when elevated they collapse, when dangling they dilate).
