Vein Indent On Leg
Varicose veins on l leg with vein valve in groin not functioning. Ran into something now bruise on thigh with throbbing pain down whole leg. Worry?
Spuriously, yes: Varicosities in and of themselves do not cause knee pain(s), rather the extremity in question typically aches, feels "full, " and occasionally sharp pains may be sensed along the vein or its tributaries. The lesser saphenous vein starts near the lateral, posterior ankle and extends up to the popliteal fossa (the space behind the knee). Plan: ultrasound to assess for reflux, a baker's cyst or dvt. ...Read moreSee 5 more doctor answers
The good news is: most all the lumps under the skin of the extremities are benign. The most common are lipomas (benign fatty, soft tissue growths) dermatofibromas or neurofibromas. Dermatofibromas may be slightly pigmented/brownish. Sometimes neurofibromas can turn in cancers so they are sometimes removed. Other types of bumps include epidermoid cysts, keratosis pillars, etc. which can be distinguished by a doctor ...Read more
See below: Sounds like a baker's cyst, which is a collection of excess joint fluid which makes it's way out of the knee capsule to the back of the knee between two muscles. You should see a vein specialist. ...Read more
Got varicose veins in 1 leg. Area just under knee on back throbbing. Got bruises near but it hurts above it. Better (still there) when walking. Dvt?
Baker cyst: An ultrasound is definitive and critical to get. Though what you have sounds like a baker's cyst - a benign fluid filled cyst - pain or swelling in this area can always potentially be a DVT and must have an ultrasound to rule that out. Go to an urgent care and call ahead to make sure they have ultrasound if you are looking for the most economical option. A phlebologist can also check you. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Visible superficial vein on right shin when standing or sitting. It's not twisted and doesn't look like varicose vein. Does it require treatment?
Reticular vein.: This sounds like a blue or reticular vein which is larger than a spider vein but not as large as a varicose vein. There is no treatment necessary for this unless you want to remove it because of cosmetic reasons.
