Vein In Right Wrist Swollen Itchy And Bruised
I have bruising on legs and arms, itchy rash, swollen veins, but blood labs are normal. Any idea what this is?
Been doing crossfit 5yrs. Only been doing HIIT 3wks. After HIIT class 2 days ago veins on ea. Side of my head were swollen, tender & itchy. Why?
The only explanation: I can possibly suggest is greater elevation of blood pressure associated with the High Intensity Interval Training. Sometimes when veins have been engorged due to increased pressure in the vascular system there is the sensation of itchiness;not sure about tenderness. I would consider some heart rate and blood pressure monitoring as you are adding HIIT into your regimen. And probably discuss with Doc ...Read more

Dry skin: My guess - pure guess - is that the skin overlying your veins itch - likely due to dry skin. "allergic" involvement of veins - actually immunologic involvement of veins is called vasculitis. The symptoms are bruising, burning & possibly pain. But this is another question that is hard to answer on healthnet. You are going to have to see your physician for this one. ...Read more
Venous pressure.: When your hands are placed above your heart the blood drains out of the hands and the flow of blood back to the heart increases. The opposite occurs when the hands are down below the heart. The venous return decreases and the veins fill. This is normal and is due to changes in venous pressure due to what we call hydrostatic pressure. This can also be affected by levels of hydration, . ...Read more
My 9 year old son has a rash on his right wrist and left elbow bend. It came on then subsided. It is back. It is very itchy.
Eczema possibly: Due to location and itching and on and off most likely eczema, but hard to tell without seeing it. I suggested making a consult and we can help you. In general for eczema use fragrance free products (detergents, shampoo, soap), no softeners, use moisturizer every day (fragrance free) and a steroid cream can help on the patch that is worse, but I would suggest a consult to verify it is eczema. ...Read more
Daughters wrist swollen for 2 wks 3 days Drs said its sprain then hand & fingers swelled 2 days ago. Is this still a sprain? There's popping too.
Trauma or not?: If your daughter is 14 or less and there has been trauma, then a fracture of the wrist is much more likely than a sprain. A follow-up x-ray can be helpful in seeing a fracture at times when the first x-ray is normal. In the absence of trauma, other diagnoses must be considered such as infection or an autoimmune condition. ...Read more
Hello - my entire forearm is swollen and red and itchy week and a half after bee sting on the wrist - though I think I just pulled the stinger out.
See your doctor: This may still be a normal local reaction to the bee sting, especially if you just pulled the stinger out. Reactions last longer when the stingers are left in. You can try taking oral Benadryl (diphenhydramine) if you have not already done so. If that does not help and it remains swollen and red, you should see a doctor. ...Read more
Swollen wrist and hand and allergy type of lesions on the hands and on the other parts of body and lesions very itchy and swollen abit. What is this?
Can't tell: Most skin lesions require a direct examination and often a biopsy to get a diagnosis. One also needs to get a detailed history on agents used on the body. In the case of dermatitis involving the hands, irritants (frequent hand-washing, organic solvents...) are the likely culprit but contact allergen may play a role as well. In your case, contact allergy is likely since it is not confined to hands. ...Read more

Hello I have just a small portion of my wrist swollen, its round in shape, its at the end of 3 finger, it only pains when I press it hard, please advise?
Possible ganglion: A small rounded mass on your wrist is most likely a ganglion cyst. They commonly arise on the top (or dorsum) of the wrist in line with the 3rd or middle finger. Sometimes: Normally we would not expect the veins in the breast to hurt or be swollen. I have a bruise on my shin that feels swollen and itchy. Is this normal? If so, how can I relieve it?
Are you sure it's: A bruise. Bruises tend not to be itchy, but I guess it's possible. Is there a way this could from an insect bite. Nonetheless, one simple thing you can do is try cold packs over the area to help with the inflammation that is likely causing the swelling and itching. Try some ice with a bit of water, in a ziplock bag, wrapped in a moist towel, placed over the area for 10mins 3-4X/day. ...Read more
