Infection? Eczema?: It may simply be a hygiene problem. If you are uncircumcised, washing under the foreskin is a must. Sometimes a rash appears after intercourse which may be related to your partner's yeast. She (and you) may need treatment. Skin diseases such as psoriasis or eczema could also be the problem as could sensitivity to soap. The nodules may well be related to skin issues; have your doc check. ...Read more
I have discomfort around the area of my jugular vein. It comes and goes as it pleases and has been happening for two days. What could this be?
Normal: Neck veins distend when we lie with our head lower than our heart or when we strain. With straining, the pressure within the chest increases and the blood flow through the neck veins decrease resulting in them enlarging. This is normal. Levels of hydration, genetics, outside temperature and any increase in pressure within the chest will enlarge the neck veins. Your veins are most likely normal. ...Read more
Bleed in tissue: It is likely that blood leaked out from your vein into the surrounding tissue. If that is all there is, it will resolve in a few weeks. If you also feel a cord like vein, that would indicate clot formation in the vein and you should contact your doctor. ...Read more
I been taking clindamycin for two days now I'm starting to get streaks of red itchy lines feeling as if it is a vein?
Show a doctor now: Red streaks could indicate an 'uncontrolled' infection - such as if the clindamycin is not strong enough or the infection is resistant to the drug. Alternatively, if you have itchiness - it could be a drug rash. The best way to decide is to show this to a doc. I would call the prescribing doctor now, and/or send pics to Health Tap so someone can give you an answer now. These things can worsen BTW. ...Read more

Hi what causes green veins on the arm and its abit painful...it happened after I took blood test two days ago.
My left arm has a large vein on the inner elbow that has been swelling over the last two days. What could it be? Should I be. Concerned?
Ur are sure it is a vein (blueish color) and there is no skin redness around it and if u can make the veins disappear, well at lease fade and get smaller with total (vertical) elevation of the arm and u have no pain, I would not be concern. If there is redness, pain and a hard cord I would see a physician.
Did you do any heavy work with the arm, did you use an air compressor, if yes see md asap! ...Read more

I just got conventional surgery for varicocele 2 days ago. My only concern is, when I stand up, I can still feel hard veins in my scrotum. Please help?
Takes Time: Varicocele repair is performed by blocking (tying or clipping) the ven (s) that lead from the abdomen (retroperitoneum) into the scrotum. Initially this will lead to those veins seeming fuller. Over the next few weeks to months the veins will shrink down. What you should notice now is that the veins do not distend further when you stand up or hold your breath (valsalva). ...Read more
I have been feeling the pulsating vein since last two days on left side b/w eye and eyebrow. Is there anything serious?
Muscle twitching: Veins are usually not pulsatile. What you are feeling might be muscle twitches. If there is no associated swelling or any change in normal appearance, it is most probably benign, nothing need to worry about, if persist or spreads to other parts of the body have it examined by a physician. ...Read more

What is the appropriate laser used that decreases downtime the most when ridding the nose of two spider veins (present derm. Says 10 days downtime)?
V-Beam: There is usually no "down-time" with treating vessels on the face. There may be some redness and swelling that may last for a day or two. If the vessels are large sometimes it takes multiple treatments and there may be some bruising. It can be treated with topicals and laser to minimize but that could take a few days to a week to clear. ...Read more

Best Get It Checked: This may be the start of inflammation in that vein and then it might clot (thrombose) and hurt more. Maybe it's just a dilated vein, but it's worth getting it checked out. Thrombosed veins could indicate something else is going on and it's best to get a professional to look at it. ...Read more
Hard, swollen cord/rope-like vein (I think great saphenous vein)along whole leg. Can only go to GP in 2 days. So terrified of DVT/other serious problem?
Superficial clot.: What you describe sounds like a clotted greater saphenous vein. This would present as a palpable cord along anywhere from the medial ankle to the upper thigh. This is called superficial phlebitis but there is always a chance that this can extend into the deep system to cause DVT. You should have a venous ultrasound and see a vein specialist as soon as possible or go to the ER for evaluation. ...Read more

I have grown spreaded hard lymphs or veins on penile shaft, upper side. It happened 8-10 days back, I masturbate 3, 4 times a week, please guide.?

A few days ago I noticed the main vein on underside of my lwrist was tender & raised. The next day it was also hard & was red around it. Busted vein?
Maybe phlebitis..: I suspect you may have some inflammation in the vein caused by some clotting--phlebitis. Possible trauma/prolonged pressure to the vein area causing the clot to form. Recent iv/injection, scratches from cat/dog, rose-thorn, or even bug-bite can do so. Certainly we worry about risk of infection. So, I recommend consulting doc for eval. Use some warm compresses and Motrin for now. Good luck. ...Read more

I have spreaded hard lymphs or veins on penis, upper side. It happened 8-10 days back, I masturbate 3, 4 times a week, usually dry. What cud be the problem?
Blood clots: This may be due to a blood clot in the superficial vein of the penis. This is a harmless condition and will take several months for it to go away. There's nothing that can be done to make it go away sooner. You should see a urologist for examination to confirm this. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Post evlt 5 days. No expected symptoms. No bruising, no hard cord in my leg, problem spot still hurts. Does this mean it didn't work, or veins reopend?
Not Necessarily: It can take up to 6 weeks to get the appropriate response following evlt. Not everyone gets bruising or a hard cord in the leg following treatment, so that is not a problem that you did not. There is less than a 5% failure treatment rate after evlt, so the odds are that the treatment did work. I would always suggest an ultrasound within 1 week after treatment ; that should give you the answer. ...Read more

Phlebitis: Veins don't like needle being stuck into them and they also don't like having fluids and drugs being flushed through them either. Needles, fluids and chemicals can all cause veins to become inflamed, hard, and sore. We call this phlebitis. Usually, phlebitis resolves on its own once the needle is out and the medicine is stopped. Anti-inflammatory meds can usually make it feel better sooner. ...Read more
Thrombophlebitis: It sounds like a superficial thrombophlebitis, a common complication of having an iv. It just means that the vein has become clotted. This is not a dangerous problem, and can be treated with frequent hot compresses. See a doctor if your arm gets swollen or you get a fever. ...Read more
