Fiber and fluids: Simple constipation usually responds to a diet rich in fiber (bran, whole grain cereals, fruits, vegetables) and increased fluid intake (water is sufficient). Are potato chips and french fries still considered vegetables? Are they bad for you even if they are cooked in "vegetable" oil?
Sort of, REALLY BAD: Technically french fries/chips are vegetables but are also junk food. When people are advised to eat veggies these aren't what's meant & don't count as credit towards servings. French fries/chips are very fattening, usually contain hazardous trans fats & have high levels of carcinogenic acrylamides. Baked potatoes have acrylamides too but less fat. See http://www.
