Vasectomy Pain One Month After
Had vasectomy one testicle swelled larger than an avocado req hospital then the other did same months later pain still 13yrs on?
That's a tough one: Is there a tissue abnormality or diagnosis? I'm sure you've been tracking down a reason and haven't found one so it may be a matter of pain conduction. A drug that helps mood called duloxetine (cymbalta) may help the pain. If u don't sleep well make sure that gets covered. If no anatomic answer, then the right meds could change big problem into a small one. Gd luc, maybe better answer coming. ...Read more
Tubes on both sides from testicle to prostate that carry sperm made by testicles are brought out through a small skin puncture in the scrotum and either cut, tied, burned or clamped. Can a 29 year old single male get a vasectomy, I would like to get one. I hate kids and never want them.
Call around: You may be able to find someone who will do the procedure. There is enough competition out there for patients that many need work to cover overhead. ...Read more
Husband had a vasectomy now it's hard for him to have an orgasm. Does this happen? Should he go see a dr? He can get it up but not have one sometimes
Sexual dysfunction: Not rare after vasectomy, especially if subject wasn't too keen to have procedure. Prom is likely psychologic. Just try not to worry about it & fully normal function should return slowly. Consult urologist or Dr, specializing in sexual function problems if problem persists. Might benefit trial of Viagra (sildenafil) or Cialis if all else fails. Good luck. ...Read more
Can one check if his spermatic cord is blocked? Want to check a crime is not done by doing a vasectomy with out my consent. Really worried & need help
Dose any one know that even after a vasectomy can sperm be retrieved if the man decides later on that he wants kids?
How reliable is a vasectomy? My husband had one 2yrs ago, followed all post op directions, but I still insist on addl contraception. Am I overreacting?
I have severe endometriosis, one ovary removed, want to get pregnant. Is there a way to test my fertility before hubby reverses vasectomy? Chances low?
Bad Odds: Oh wow! My first question is how long has your husband had a vasectomy? If longer than 5 years, significant antibodies are produced immobilizing the sperm and making him effectively infertile. Only might icsi/ivf help in which case he would not need a reversal, they would just insert a needle and extract a specimen. Also very expensive and low yield. Endometriosis prevents fertilization also. ...Read more
One of my partners had a vasectomy and got a sperm count and it came back zero. I am pregnant. Any possible way he is the father?
My friend slept with two people around the same time and is now pregnant. One had vasectomy w/ no sperm count. Any way he is the father?
One of my partners had a vasectomy 5 yrs ago and got a sperm count and it came back zero. I'm pregnant. Any possible way he is the father?
Not very likely: Since Vasectomy is a highly effective method at preventing pregnancies (more than 99%) particularly after a confirmatory sperm count of zero and because the incidence or "recanalization" and of post-vasectomy pregnancy is so low, it seems very unlikely that this "one of your partners" would be responsible for your pregnancy. ...Read more
4 years after my vasectomy had a pregnancy scare with a one night accident. Took a home sperm analysis kit, showed I'm sperm free. Are they accurate?
Is it necessary to use BCP one year after partner's successful vasectomy? At his 1 yr semen analysis, sperm count was at zero? Chances of pregnancy?

If you got pregnant and one of your partners had a vasectomy and got checked by a doc with a zero sperm count any possible way he could be the father?
Wishful thinking: If the vasectomy partner has a documented lab report showing zero sperm, it is unlikely but not completely impossible. There are rare known instances of the vas deferens (sperm pathway that was cut or clipped) blockage to put itself together again. However, if you have had multiple partners, and did not use contraception, you are more likely pregnant by a "connected pathway guy." ...Read more
What causes an abnormal menstrual cycle? I am a healthy 33 year old female. I don't smoke, do drugs or drink. I have two children (12 and 10) both normal births. I have only one sexual partner (my husband) who had a vasectomy about 8 years ago. I have had
I: I can understand your concern as that is a very unusual menstrual cycle. Please take a pregnancy test to be sure that isn't the cause, but it sounds unlikely. Please have your thyroid hormones checked to be sure you are not hypothyroid. It is also important to be sure you are receiving adequate nutrition, as patient's with malnutrition can have irregular cycles. That is a very long time to go without a period so I advise that you do see a gynecologist and have this completely evaluated. ...Read more
My period is one day late. I'm on BCP with no missed pills. My partner had a successful vasectomy and zero sperm count. Could I be pregnant?
Several reasons: The male genitalia as an excellent blood supply and so almost all injuries heal fairly quickly. Things that prevent healing are persistent foreign bodies such as a vasectomy clip too close to the surface and is being pushed out through natural healing, or a suture that is not absorbing as fast as expected. If this persist, the area may need to be re-excised and closed again. ...Read more

It's been 5 months ever since I underwent vasectomy and my wife has been taking the pill up to date. Can she stop taking the pill?
Yes, if no sperm: In your semen. Should have or have had semen analysis 3 months & 20 ejaculations after vasectomy. You are free & clear in absence of sperm & your wife can stop taking the pill. Check with your urologist. There is about 1:1000 chance of recanalization in rare instance post vasectomy healing resulting in reconnection of the vas. ...Read more
Possible...: The safety & effectiveness after vasectomy can be claimed only after post-vas semen exam shows no sperm. Largely, some 85% of post-vas men will be sperm-free after 15 ejaculations or in months; despite claimed sperm-free, post-vas recanalization does still occur. Despite stressing these important post-vas F/U, still less than 45% of patients would follow post-vas instruction to get post-vas semen. ...Read more
