Can a varicocele cause pain that radiates deep into the scrotal and perineal area?

Urologist evaluation: Varicoceole may be a cause for pain. Do you try to keep the scrotum elevated? You should ask for a referral to a Urologist to evaluate you for surgery. If this is a minor dicomfort and you are able to live with it, then you are unlikely to find a surgeon to assist with it. However, if this is severe pain, that limits your lifesytle and activities, then a surgeon would be happy to see you. ...Read more

Can a "growing" varicocele render infertility? Should pain with it be cause for worry?

Maybe: A varicocele, if large, can affect the function of a testicle, which could affect sperm counts which could possibly affect fertility. Can big varicocele on left testis cause pain in right? I have been checked by 3 urologist, they all did uvSound and didnt find anything in right testi

Other causes: Sometimes an inguinal hernia that is not large enough to descend in the scrotum will give referred pain to the testis. Ultrasound of that testis will be normal. I am referring to a direct inguinal hernia & also to a small indirect hernia. Diabetic neuropathy can cause testicular pain. Rarely the pain is idiopathic (cannot be explained) and a scrotal support from an athletic goods store may help. ...Read more
