Most effective chemotherapy agent for non small cell type 1 lung cancer?

Most effective chemotherapy agent for non small cell type 1 lung cancer?

Molecular map reqd: We know now that about 50% of non small cell lung cancers have a detectable mutation that has a targeted drug to that mutation. This means that the most effective drugs can be used efficiently and targetted to the specific tumor cell type. I have lung nodules 6 years ago that were cal cialcified now I have more what would cause more and could it be cancer. I was in vietnam and have many problems from angent orange?

Lung nodules: The old calcified lung nodules do not concern me. However the new lung nodules are more concerning. Things like infection, rheumatological problems, cancer ( either lung cancer or other type of cancer that spreads to lung) can cause lung nodules. Discuss further with your md . You need further evaluation and biopsy of the lung nodule is likely required ( if possible to be done)-to find what it is. ...Read more

I'm a vietnam veteran with many angent orange problems. I had a lung X-ray 6 years ago with calcified nodules now I have more nodules. Could this be cancer?

Maybe/likely not.: While nodules, even calcified ones can possibly be cancer, they are more likely to be something else. Calcified nodules are likely to be associated with a chronic phase of tuberculosis that may have infected you while you were in an endemic area, like vietnam, but your immune sysytem had overcome without much symptoms or signs, but left these nodules, known as the ghon complex. Check w/ your dr. ...Read more
