How effective is Valtrex (valacyclovir) for hsv? What's the update regarding the disease? Any home remedies once an outbreak is shown either for HSV 1 or HSV 2? Thnx
Very effective, yes: Valtrex (valacyclovir) is very effective for treating hsv outbreaks but, like all rx's, is not a cure. Some people with hsv almost never get outbreaks, some get them frequently- the most important factor is your immunity. Healthy diet, stress reduction, a good mulitvitamin & immune-boosting herbs like andrographis &medicinal mushrooms like reishi can help. My favorite home remedy is lemon balm. Actually, it really depends on how old the medicine is. If its relatively soon after the expiration date, i'm sure its still good. All bets are off its over a year past. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
