If I get extremely nervous while flying. can I take a Valium pill. would it make it better? what dose?. I am a 33 yld female 5.2 ft, 130 lb
CBT better: Retraining your thinking about flying through Cognitive Behavior Therapy would be the safer alternative. Many psychologists offer a limited number of sessions to work on this fear. Some people do take a low dose tranquilizer such as Xanax (alprazolam) or Valium, but they are very addicting & one can be easily tempted to use them in other situations. Your first efforts should be trying to retrain your thinking. ...Read more
Valium (diazepam) is an older benzodiazepine tranquilizer. It was the #1 prescribed drug (of any kind) in the us in the late 1960s but is used less now due to drug interactions and active metabolites. It is still used for anxiety and as "pre-medication" for uncomfortable medical and minor surgical procedures. It is habit-forming, should not be used with alcohol, ...Read more
Asthma and Dentistry: Good day; I've had asthma since the age of four. If I understand nature and scope of procedure before hand; I have no difficulty withstanding an invasive dental procedure. A small pre visit dose of Valium would not be to disruptive to your schedule. Arrange appointment at end of day- so you may go directly home after the visit. ...Read more

Maybe: Valium, especially in small doses can be taken in combination with many medications. Valerian root is an herbal remedy that can help with anxiety but it's effectiveness for this is variable depending on the formulation. The key thing is that you need to read the label on the bottle because some of these remedies will have other ingredients that may interact. ...Read more

I want to know how long can I take Valium 10 mg without being dependent. It is prescribed and I'm not taking more pills.
Dependency: There is a difference between using diazepam as it is intended and addiction (when you take more than necessary to obtain a positive feeling). Unfortunately, there aren't any concrete rules on how long it takes. Best bet is always to take the lowest dosage of any medicine for the shortest duration possible to achieve an adequate result. Hope that helps! ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I have been taking Valium on and off since 2009 for vertigo. Are the pills from 2009 safe to take or effective?
Expired Valium: Sounds like the valium is expired. While it probably won't cause any serious safety issues, it may not be effective. Call or see your doctor for a fresh refill, or for further evaluation of your vertigo, which by the way should not persist since 2009. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
First i eated 1 2mg Rohypnol to sleep. I can't get them. So now i eat 5 10mg Valium to sleep. My question: what sleep pills is strong as rohypnol?
Oh be careful !!!: Rohypnol is illegal here. I'm uncertain, but are you saying you take "5 10mg valium to sleep" this would mean you take 50mg of valium at once. Dangerous level. Or did you mean either 5 or 10 mg of valium at night. If you take amphetamine, as you state, you will have trouble with insomnia. Recommend discontinuation of upper, and 5-10mg of ambien (zolpidem). But you need to be under doctor's supervision. ...Read more
How dangerous really is it to mix seroquel (quetiapine) with alcohol ? Valium with alcohol? Or both pills with alcohol? I'm finding very mixed answers. Mydrsaysno!
No: Your doctor is correct, the best answer is no. Alcohol, seroquel (quetiapine) and valium all can be quite sedating. Combining them can have an additive effect leading to increased sedation and impaired ability to function. Combining alcohol and valium is especially dangerous since they work on the same receptors in the brain. In sufficient quantities this runs the risk of respiratory depression and death. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
