Vaginal Burning And Itch
Several things: I am assuming that by "tests" you mean that you have been screened for yeast infection, bacterial infection, and STDS by your doctor. If those are all normal, other possibilities are low estrogen levels in the vagina called atrophic vaginitis, a skin condition called lichen sclerosis, or other dermatology conditions that can occur in and around the vagina. See doctor for further evaluation. ...Read more
Not great idea: You should see your gyn to find out the cause of the problem. ...Read more

18 yr old first time on Lo Loestrien Fe birth control for 3 weeks and experiencing vaginal burning and itching not an STD how can I help or prevent it
Vaginitis: Are you using the BCPs for birth control or just to regulate your period or some other reason. There are many different combos that can be used. I would suggest sitz baths and culturing and treatment for probable yeast infection. Did you recently take a course of antibiotics? Frequently that leads to a vaginal yeast infection ...Read more
I am experiencing pain with urination (quality: stinging or burning sensation), abnormal vaginal discharge (quality: itchiness, cheesy discharge) and vaginal itching. The following also describe me: Vaginal burning, Genital itching, and Vaginal irritat
I've had two false positives for syphilis. I'm weak and my heart has been bothering me. Urine smells like cheese and vaginal burning and itch. Bodysore?
Yeast infection?: False positive syphilis blood tests (often abbreviated BFP for "biological false positive") are fairly common, and generally do not indicate any sort of health problem. Your BFP test has nothing to do with your other symptoms. "Vaginal burning and itch" suggest yeast infection. Keep working with your doctor; it should be easy to diagnose this, and perhaps the strong smelling urine. Good luck! ...Read more
Vaginal burning, slight itching and slight pain when urinating, yellowish discharge. Is this a yeast infection or something else?
See answer: Your symptoms are most consistent with a vaginitis. The three most common causes are yeast (usually whitish discharge), bacterial vaginosis (often foul smelling), and trichomonas or other std. Yeast often responds to an otc antifungal and the latter two usually treated with Metronidazole (flagyl). Recommend see md for accurate diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more

Could vaginal burning itching and dryness be from the mirena (levonorgestrel)? I just had my one month follow up but now I have these symptoms
I've been having vaginal irritation (burning, itching, etc) for the past few days but with normal discarge and no odor. Help?
Yeast?: These are typical symptoms for a vaginal yeast infection. Contrary to common opinion (or what you may have read online or elsewhere), yeast infections cause no significant odor and often no increased discharge. See your doctor; or perhaps try one of the many effective over-the-counter vaginal yeast meds (any with active incredient ending in "azole"). But for sure see a doctor if it doesn't work. ...Read more
I am experiencing vaginal burning and vaginal itching. The following also describes me: Skin redness or irritation. What should I do?
OTC meds or Dr visit: If this just started, you could try OTC meds for vaginal irritation. If those don't work, you should see your doctor to get tested for an infection like yeast or bacterial vaginosis. Avoiding perfumey soaps, body wash, bubble bath and wearing loose fitting, cotton underwear can help. ...Read more
I'm looking for a natural remedy to sooth and heal external vaginal burning/itching due to low estrogen. I don't want to use estrogen cream. Thanks!
Atrophic vaginitis: It's tough to find a topical substitute for Premarin (conjugated estrogens) or Estradiol cream for use on atrophic vaginitis. You could dry KY long lasting to improve overall moisture and intake of soy, which is a phytoestrogen may have a slight effect. Just make sure your gyn has ruled out lichen sclerosis and infection as the possible cause. Estradiol cream by the way is actually made from soy beans. ...Read more
I had vaginal burning/itching and clinic did a standard panel test for std's. Does that usually include HIV or do I have to get that separately?
Not HIV. Yeast?: HIV testing usually is done along with other STD tests, but not always; you'll have to ask the doctor or clinic. The most common cause of such symptoms is a vaginal yeast infection, so ask your doctor if you were checked for yeast. Even if not, or if negative for yeast, treatment is often given for possible yeast since it's easy and non-toxic. Ask about it. Good luck! ...Read more
My husband & I had intercourse a few days ago. Since then, I have had extreme vaginal discomfort. No burning or itching just discomfort & pain.
Pain following sex: Best see a doctor about this. Pain for a day or two after sex can be due to minor trauma, expecially if sex was vigorous. But "a few days" probably is too long for that. If there are sores or blisters, or tender swelling in the groin, herpes is a possibility and can first show up in monogamous couples, if one partner already has it but isn't aware. Check it out: better safe than sorry. ...Read more

UTI: Is not uncommon in women to get uti's more frequently than men. You know the symptoms. I have symptoms of intermittent vaginal itching/burning. I saw a gyn and all cultures were neg. At appt. I was not as bad but it is back. What should I do?
See a derm: Since you saw your gyn and cultures were all negative, I would advise you see a dermatologist next. Even though it is vulvar skin, it is still skin. If a biopsy is needed, he/she can perform that as well. You need some type of topical treatment to alleviate the itch, as well as the underlying problem. ...Read more
