What's abnormal vaginal bleeding?

Heavy, unpredictable: Generally speaking, anything that's out of the "ordinary.". Heavier menses that is consistent (e.g. More than about 3 months straight), bleeding in between cycles in the absence of hormonal manipulation and bleeding after sex are some examples.

Somewhat: Major surgery has a small risk from general anesthesia alone. It is safe most of the time, or we wouldn't do it. What you have is not clear, which is why you are having the surgery. Hopefully the surgery corrects the problem and all is well, but it depends on what is causing the problem. After the surgery you will know what caused it and what the next steps will be. Good luck to you.

Anal bleeding and vaginal bleeding. I have hemorrhoids and ovarian cysts? Should I be worried?

Why worry?: Really! Go see a MD for your symptoms as "worry" never solves any issues. Both of those issues can be treated.

It is time: To see a doctor (ob-gyn) to assess what is happening. Take your imaging findings along, or better yet upload and share them with your doctor ahead of time - see http://conciergeradiologist. Com for details on how to do that.

82 year old vaginal bleeding, what should be done?

Check with gyn: It is good idea to see gynecologist if you have at least two short courses of vaginal bleeding on separate days. If you have constant bleeding, then please contact your local physician.

Exam: She needs an examination for a lesion or growth in her vagina. It might be nothing significant, but it deserves to be looked at.

I'm 18 years old and have irregular vaginal bleeding and a high white blood cell count. What could this mean? What are the possible things that could be wrong with me?

I'm 18 years old and have irregular vaginal bleeding and a high white blood cell count. What could this mean? What are the possible things that could be wrong with me?

With: With the limited amount of information given, it is very difficult to say if these things are related or not. Based on the fact that you know that your white blood cell count is high means you have visited a medical professional. Did they give you a possible diagnosis? Perform a pregnancy test? Elevated white blood cell count usually signifies an infectious process that is occurring or has recently recurred and is resolving. High WBC count with irregular vaginal bleeding can mean a vaginal infection, or even a missed miscarriage. I hope you follow up with your doctor for further investigation. A more detailed history, physical, and diagnostic testing should shed some light on your situation, and lead to a diagnosis, and ultimately treatment if indicated. Good luck.

My 11 year old had a pelvic US that found a 11cm x 7cm x 11cm ovarian mass. Report states complex cystic and solid mass with internal septation and a solid component. Solid component approx 4.4cm w/ surface nodularity. Should I assume cancer?

Mass: There are several causes for ovarian masses including benign (not cancer) and malignant (cancerous). Blood work called tumor markers can sometimes help your doctors clinical suspicion but the only definitive way to diagnose is to remove the mass and have the pathologist review the specimen.

OCP effects: Oral Contraceptive Pills (OCP's) are known to cause adverse effects such as irregular bleeding. It sometimes may take a few cycles to normalize. Your primary doctor may want to look at adjusting the dosages of the different estradiol and progesterone elements in the pill to help minimize these symptoms.

Hello, I had a bad fall on my side the day before yesterday and I've been having slight vaginal bleeding today...Is that normal? I'm 30 years old.

Hello, I had a bad fall on my side the day before yesterday and I've been having slight vaginal bleeding today...Is that normal? I'm 30 years old.

Vaginal bleed: Fall should not cause vaginal bleed, if it does we need to find out if there is any damage to the organs in the pelvis. I would recommend you to see a doctor.

What can cause vaginal bleeding a year after a hysterectomy?

What can cause vaginal bleeding a year after a hysterectomy?

See your GYN: In the process of healing, any incision can develop granulation tissue, which is normal collection of blood vessels and connective tissue. Granulation tissue can also form at the top of the vagina in the months after hysterectomy. You should see your gyn to determine the source of the bleeding, and if it is granulation tissue it can be easily treated in the office.

I have taken bc powder aspirin for years and daily for the past year and I recently started vaginal bleeding which im sure is related to the aspirin?

Not necessarily: It is not a good idea to take bc powder everyday. It can cause bleeding issues, but usually in the gastrointestinal tract. New onset abnormal vaginal bleeding can be caused by many things other than Aspirin and must be investigated with an exam and vaginal ultrasound.

I'm 17 & been on depo for over a year now & recently stopped getting the shots & now ive been having nonstop vaginal bleeding for 2months straight now?

Better get checked: Although uterine shedding is expected after discontinuing depo, it should not be lasting this long. See GYN for an exam.

Can certain medications cause vaginal bleeding? No cycle for over a year. Started taking a cold med and my cycle returned with no warning

Get checked: The cold medicine has nothing to do with the bleeding. By definition you have postmenopausal bleeding which is abnormal until proven otherwise.

I have had vaginal bleeding for about a year straight. The bleeding will stop for a day or two and then begin again. What could be causing this?

Many reasons: The bleeding you have described is abnormal and you need a complete workup including labs and possibly a pelvic exam. Not only is the bleeding abnormal but the effects may also cause complications like anemia which can be severe. Please seek consultation as soon as possible. Good luck and take care.

My Gf and I have had protected sex over the last year but as of late she has had brown vaginal bleeding with some red for about two weeks. Whatisthis?

Vaginal bleeding: There are many possible causes ranging from a bleeding disorder, to period problems to possible pregnancy. She should see a physician to check this out, especially if she is showing any signs of bleeding when she brushes her teeth or bruising on her legs and abdomen.
