Is dark red vaginal bleeding normal after a ruptured ovarian cyst? At around 4am on Thursday, my cyst ruptured. I had brown discharge, now it is red.
Ovarian cyst:rupture: A ruptured ovarian cyst does not normally cause vaginal bleeding. Assuming the cyst was documented by ultrasound exam, and that serum HCG testing is negative for pregnancy, the bleeding may be coincident with the onset of your menses. See your gyn provider to make certain the latter is certain. ...Read more

Severe low back pain that was rapid onset. I was just diagnosed with a Prolapsed cervix. I also have ovarian cysts that one time was hemorrhagic and nearly fatal. I had an ablation 3 years ago and have recently had some vaginal bleeding. Tender abs.
Several issues: Back pain could be due to back issues such as herniated discs, back strain, arthritis, etc. Prolapsed cervix may also contribute to back pain. If you have post ablation spotting, especially if it is painful, this may also be contributing to back pain. So see your GYN, and then a back specialist as necessary ...Read more

Is it normal to be still bleeding 6 weeks after laparoscopic removal of ovarian cysts and both ovaries?
HORMONAL SHIFTS: When the ovaries are removed, there are tremendous hormonal changes in the body. The woman's response depends on whether post operative medications are given or not. A transvaginal sonogram of the uterine lining will tell best how to manage your bleeding. If you are not feeling emotionally ok after removing the ovaries, there may be a hormonal issue that can be corrected. You are not going crazy! ...Read more

27yr old with heavy mid cycle bleeding for the past 6 months. I have a 4.5cm ovarian cyst. Doctors have said bleeding is hormonal. Other opinions?
Maybe: Heavy midcycle bleeding may be related to hormones related to a persistent ovarian cyst. If the cyst hasn't resolved, medical therapy may be indicated to suppress the cyst and if persistent, surgical intervention may be required for resolution. Ultrasound characteristics of the cyst can be important for determining if surgery is indicated. ...Read more

Yes: Ovarian cyst can alter hormone production from the ovary and cause irregular bleeding. I have a ovarian cyst that is resolving itself and bleeding into itself. The sonographer said it all looked fine, should I be concerned though?
Usually not: An ovarian cyst usually does not cause a lot of bleeding and discharge on a tampon. Vaginal bleeding usually comes from the inside of the uterus or the cervix or the vagina. Bleeding from an ovarian cyst causes bleeding in the abdomen - this almost never comes out the uterus. ...Read more
I have an ovarian cyst on my left side. I just started bleeding, period isent due for two weeks? What is this?
2 Things: It's possible, though unlikely, that the ovarian cyst caused your bleeding. Most cysts aren't hormonally 'active' as it were and wouldn't affect the uterus' cycling. More likely is that you are having breakthrough bleeding, due to changes in your ovaries' production of estrogen and progesterone. See a doctor if the breakthrough bleeding continues. ...Read more
