Vaginal Bleeding After An Appendectomy
I'm 5 weeks pregnant &had apendectomy 4 days ago. No vaginal bleeding aside from post surgery pain I only feel breast tenderness would pregnancystill be ok?
Probably: Unfortunately, sometimes patients need an appendectomy during pregnancy. Most do well, but occasionally a miscarriage does happen. However, it is less common that it was years ago, because we have more knowledge of which medications are relatively pregnancy safe. Appendectomy during each trimester has different risks, but not having it done can lead to maternal death.
An appendectomy is surgery to remove the appendix. The appendix is a small, finger-shaped organ extending from the first part of the large intestine. It is removed when it becomes inflamed or infected. A perforated appendix can leak and infect the entire abdominal area, which can be life-threatening. An appendectomy is done under general anesthesia, which means you are asleep and do not feel any pain during the surgery. The surgeon makes a small cut in the lower right side of your belly area ...Read more
Possible miscarriage: Get checked bleeding and cramping most times are signs of a possible miscarriage.
Gyn exam is a must: Vaginal bleeding is abnormal in post menopausal females and should be addressed ASAP. Gyn exam is a must! Blood in the urine may originate from the vagina, which in close proximity to female urethra. Alternatively hematuria (blood in the urine) could be real and indeed coming from the urinary tract (kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra). You will need a gyn exam to further specify.
I had unplanned sex last night and I woke up to vaginal bleeding and my vagina is tighter then normal?
Injury? Cervicitis?: Maybe an injury if "unplanned" implies sex was vigorous or poor lubrication, and trauma would fit with "tightness". However, bleeding after sex can be inflammation of the cervix (cervicitis), including STDs (e.g. gonorrhea, chlamydia, or trichomonas). And your topic tags show STDs are on your mind, so for sure see your doctor or perhaps a public health STD or Planned Parenthood clinic. Good luck!
Could glugophage or any of my meds cause vaginal bleeding in my age? Cancer test and biopsy were negative
See your doc: Any time someone has bleeding after menopause, cancer must be ruled-out. Usually post-menopausal bleeding is from atrophy (or thinning of tissue -- vagina, for example) and this can be treated with vaginal estrogen. However, I implore you to discuss with your gynecologist. There may be other causes. You definitely need an endometrial biopsy.
My last period was sept 17th, and now I am having a dark reddish brown vaginal bleeding, and it's a light flow. What should I do?
Wait: If you don't think you might have a chance to be pregnant, and you are not having pain. I would wait and see what happens with your next period.
Had a hysterectomy in 2002 and left only my Overies left. Now pain in lower back on both sides and now got vaginal bleeding should I be concerned?
I have had vaginal bleeding for about three weeks now, it's pretty light but constant. It started as brown discharge and severe pain in my lower left?
Get checked.: You should get checked, if not by your ob-gyn then by an emergency department doc able to perform ultrasound. You need to make sure the ovary isn't twisted around, or a fertilized egg isn't implanting in the wrong place.See 1 more doctor answer

About 4 months now I had 9 injections for heavy vaginal bleeding. It stopped. Now I have pain from all those injection on my hips n butt. Is this normal?
Normal if the pain: Should get better everyday If red, hot and more tender, may be infection (which is rare) should see your provider asap No harm to try hot towel on it 15 min 4 time a day alone with some motrin
My mom who is 70 was taking xarelto for 2 days and started bleeding vaginally. She stopped drug a month now but still has some vaginal bleeding, why is this? Shouldn't the bleeding have stopped by now
Go to doctor: Bleeding even with blood thinners is concerning. A physical, not only functional cause of bleeding needs to be assessed. For example if the bleeding is rectally, polyp or tumor has to be evaluated and above, ulcer has to be evaluated. The blood thinner is a risk, but at controlled dose should not be the main cause other than allowing a lesion to cause it. Your mom needs a gyn or maybe urology.See 2 more doctor answers
Age of daughter: In infants& toddlers vaginal bleeding can mean trauma, retained foreign body or rarely a uterine problem (i've seen cancer in the age group). If hard to localize specificly to the vagina, a kidney stone could produce enough blood to think it comes from the vagina. In pubertal teens, they often have wide variations in their frequency, duration & amount of flow the first year & might later.See 1 more doctor answer
Likely yes: It is very common to have either early or a somewhat changed menstrual cycle secondary to stress such as the stress from surgery. It is also possible that you may have received some medications that may have made it slightly more likely for you to bleed at least temporarily. Also unless the bleeding is severe it is unlikely that represents anything significant in the short experience you describeSee 1 more doctor answer
Unrelated: This is most likely unrelated, unless of course you had a transvaginal approach at one of the few centers in the us doing it this way. Stress of anesthesia and surgery could disrupt regular menstrual cycles. I you think something is wrong however, call your surgeon or primary care - they'll take the call. Best of luck.
My gf experienced vaginal bleeding and pain in the abdoment 7 days after having an emergency contrceptive. What should we do?
My wife had a 12 week ultrasound today and everything was normal. She had vaginal bleeding a few hours later. What could cause this?
Soundwaves: Ultrasound simply uses sound waves to generate an image so it would not directly causes bleeding. If this was a transvaginal sonogram then lubricant is applied and any blood in the back of the vagina already might come out and be visualized. You could contact the Obgyn who did the sonogram to see if any abnormalities were seen in the sono that would explain irregular bleeding.
What is the cause of my vaginal bleeding? Age: 20 recently tried to have intercourse for the first time. Very little time of penetration.
Vaginal tear: If he didn't succeed at first, like the axiom, "he tried and tried again" possibly resulting in a vulvar, hymenal or vaginal tear causing the bleeding. See a gyn md for evaluation if the bleeding continues.
Pregnant?: Have you done a pregnancy test? If negative, your period was just a bit late and will likely self-correct itself next cycle. Good luck.
By Calender: Periods come every month. Most people have 28 to 30 days cycle. And periods are associated with other changes like sore breasts, cramps in lower abdomen. Pelvic pressure, food cravings, mood swings, irritability, backache, water retention, headache and fatigue. Not all women get all symptoms but some symptoms they get every months. And it lasts 3to5 days Vaginal Bleeding can happen in between the periods.
Exertion: Can occasionally cause some vaginal spotting; however bleeding related to heavy exertion should be checked by your GYN for further evaluation.
