Lots of options: You will need to see your obgyn for an exam and testing. Depending on your age and fertility plans there are lots of treatment options. Birth control pills can regulate your cycle. Mirena (levonorgestrel) iuds can minimize your periods. Lysteda is a great new hormone free drug used to stop heavy periods. Many!: There are many treatment options! but first u need an evaluation to find the cause. Probably need a sonogram, some labs/tests, and also rx depends on whether or not u plan to have more children. Some options (which may or may not work for u depending on what's causing ur pain) include: ocps, a Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud, other medications, an ablation, laparoscopy, or hysterectomy (last 3 r surgeries). ...Read more

Go to doctor: Bleeding even with blood thinners is concerning. A physical, not only functional cause of bleeding needs to be assessed. For example if the bleeding is rectally, polyp or tumor has to be evaluated and above, ulcer has to be evaluated. The blood thinner is a risk, but at controlled dose should not be the main cause other than allowing a lesion to cause it. Your mom needs a gyn or maybe urology. ...Read more
