Would it be possible to have a penis via surgery, yet still keep a fully functional vagina?

Would it be possible to have a penis via surgery, yet still keep a fully functional vagina?

Confused: Not sure what the question is about. There is no indication for having both set of genitalia. You may want to make an appointment with a board certified psychiatrist to discuss genital ambiguity.

Ultrasound of pelvis showed 6 CM cyst. Do I need surgery?

Ultrasound of pelvis showed 6 CM cyst. Do I need surgery?

Maybe: Decisions for surgery are based on discussions between the patient and clinicians, which in this case should be you, your ob/gyn, and possibly the radiologist.

I recently had a surgery to repair my femur/pelvis bone and I had the surgery 12 days ago. My wound was closed with glue can I take a shower yet?

I recently had a surgery to repair my femur/pelvis bone and I had the surgery 12 days ago. My wound was closed with glue can I take a shower yet?

Ask surgeon: Please ask your surgeon or check your discharge instructions. Taking a shower can be challenging. If you did not get discharge instructions, call the hospital floor where you stayed and ask them why not? They may know the answer to your question. You need those instructions so you can follow them and get the best possible outcome from your surgery and prevent delays in healing or complications.

I was stretching and right over my pelvis 2"-3" below a surgery scar and the scar itself started burning and won't stop. What is this and is it bad?

I was stretching and right over my pelvis 2"-3" below a surgery scar and the scar itself started burning and won't stop. What is this and is it bad?

Need some more info?: What kind of surgery, where is the scar, and how long ago was the surgery? It's probably not "bad" but may depend on the answers to these questions. Good wishes.

29 y/o f w/ 2 exophytic subserosal uterine fibroids on the right side of the pelvis. Anterior 6.5 x 5.9 x 7.3 cm; posterior: 10.3 x9.1x 9 cm. Surgery?

That depends: On if you are done having children, or would still like the option to try. Those are pretty big measurements, and could possibly complicate every aspect of pregnancy. They can also keep growing--sometimes very quickly and can get quite large. You are close to the threshold of being able to do a vaginal hysterectomy at all. Wait too much longer, and you might have no choice but abdominal. Talk to doc.

My husband had kidney removal surgery with the laser on thursday he is now having very bad cramping in his pelvis area like a woman is that normal?

Yes & No: It is VERY IMPORTANT to report this symptom to the surgeon NOW!! Could be normal after any kind of surgery like this but don't take any chances. There is a saying "that if anything can happen it will".

Get examined: First of all you need to have a major problem excluded such as an intra-abdominal abscess or recurrent infection. You should see your doctor ASAP, and possibly get imaging study done based on physical exam findings

Lump in pelvis where thigh meets groin. Recently had surgery on Achilles' tendon (2wks ago)?

Groin lump: Any lump needs to be evaluated by your doctor. He/she will let you know what it is and help you. MAY be an inflamed lymph node or something else. Peace and good health.

I had hernia (groin) surgery 8 weeks ago and now in my left inner thigh where it meets my pelvis its really sore an somewhat painful. Is this normal?

Not normal.: The unfortunate reality with groin hernia operations is that there are many postoperative pain syndromes that can occur for a variety of reasons, including nerve injury or entrapment. The area you are describing is usually an issue with the ilioinguinal nerve. I would consult with your surgeon to discuss therapeutic options.

What good do the surgical Steri Strips do? Recently had surgery and incision on pelvis is raised, like a keloid scar. How will they help??

What good do the surgical Steri Strips do? Recently had surgery and incision on pelvis is raised, like a keloid scar. How will they help??

Tension reducer: The stern strips will not help with scar formation or reduction what they do is act kind of like the tape on a package that has the string mixed into the glue. The stress are placed along the incision and perpendicular to the incision. They reduce the pull of you skin and body on the incision which is really being held closed by surtures and or staples

Having scoliosis surgery and fusion to thoracolumbar spine to pelvis and l5/s1 decompression with multilevel osteotomies. What happens in surgery?

Having scoliosis surgery and fusion to thoracolumbar spine to pelvis and l5/s1 decompression with multilevel osteotomies. What happens in surgery?

Lumbar scoliosis: Simple. Incision made in back to visualize spine to be fused. Length of incision appropriate for fusion. The facet joints are removed and the bone prepared for fusion. At l5-s1, facet and disk removed, and spacer placed into disk along with bone graft. Multiple laminectomy and facet excisions (osteotomy) to make spine more flexible. Rods/screws placed to maintain correction. Bone graft placed.

My mom had a kidney stone surgery before 10 days. After surgery the stone didn't broke. Stone went to pelvis. Now bit fever. Now ESR rate goes to 43.why?

My mom had a kidney stone surgery before 10 days. After surgery the stone didn't broke. Stone went to pelvis. Now bit fever. Now ESR rate goes to 43.why?

Here are some…: Running fever after all stone-related procedures warrants an urgent evaluation and counseling to make sure of no ureteral obstruction, which requires a timely relief with procedure. So, go to see Dr. As soon as possible. Best wish…
