Not recommended: Mucous membranes don't have a protective (tough) layer of skin over them (such as a hand). The genital tract qualifies as a mucous membrane because it's moist. Soaps used on the outside of my vagina makes me get infections. How can I keep clean down there without any soap at all?
Cetaphil cleanser: Can try cetaphil cleanser- is very mild. Is designed for sensitive skin. Most grocery stores / pharmacies carry it. You can use it on a wash cloth, or just clean area with cetaphil on a cotton ball. Most soaps contain scents that can irritate the vaginal area .
