My partner smokes marijuana n drinks on the regular. He ejaculated inside my vagina this morning for the first time what are my chances of becomin pre?
50-50.:.: I think you have a 50 - 50 chance of being pregnant. Unless you want to be pregnant, go get a blood test for 'pregnancy (more reliable than the urinary test) and go to a clinic or a clinic and discuss getting on some reliable contra conception. Condoms are considered reliable if they are actually used every time. ...Read more
I recently stopped smoking an alternative to marijuana and my eyes have felt dry and there has been veins and dark circles under my eyes. Help?
See a doctor: Drugs like k2 and spice are not "alternatives" to marijuana, they are highly variable and sometimes very unsafe synthetic chemicals that have been associated, unlike marijuana, with high rates of psychosis, seizures and even death. You need a physical exam, and you need some help with finding alternatives to drugs - a treatment program of some kind. ...Read more
Smoking cannabis after scaphoid non-union surgery. It involved a bone graft from my pelvis and a pin to secure it together. Is weed bad for healing?

Probably not.: To be clear, I am not an advocate at all for marijuana use. That said, a literature search confirmed my impression that the likelihood of it causing death is slim to none. One source cited 5 marijuana-related deaths in great britain over a 2-year period, but the proximal cause was inhaled vomit. That said, chronic, heavy use of marijuana is associated with a variety of negative outcomes. ...Read more
Many issues: Certainly marijuana use can interfere with hormonal development and brain development. However, in my opinion, the biggest risk is that teens who smoke pot often move on to more significant drug use with other illicit drugs. There is also a higher risk of death/injury due to accidents. ...Read more
Uncertain: Two research studies that made the news in 2011 found 14%-17% of marijuana users (3 or more times/week) were obese. Presumably, many other mj users were overweight but not obese. Their findings in people who did not use mj showed 22%-25% of non-users were obese. Perhaps people who tend to become mj users are less obese to start with, or maybe mj users use mj instead of food to soothe their stress. ...Read more
Rarely in some: Smoking marijuana causes a variety of changes neurobiologically as well as behaviorally and while many would be expected to gain weight there would be a subset of people that might experience weight loss. Different mechanisms may be involved although I could see psychomotor retardation, new onset apathy, paranoia, psychosis and increased anxiety as being possible routes to weight loss. Stay safe. ...Read more
Indirectly: Cannabinoids in marijuana have been shown to modulate inflammation. In a large population study mj users had a lower incidence of diabetes2 than nonusers. The researchers are still studying this effect to see if it may provide help for people with dm2. For now it's best not to use mj for dm2 until more research is completed. Find reason to stop: Changing any behavior is hard. The starting point is to find at least one reason to change. Recreational drugs are highly enjoyable. Therefore, they are very difficult to stop. Imagine you have a favorite hobby. What would it take for you to give it up? First step in helping someone quit drug is to help the individual find motivation to quit. You can try yourself or seek professional help. ...Read more

Why risk the harm?: Not enough is known as this would not be an ethical study to expose infants to a potentially harmful drug. I thank you for asking, and hope if you are the one considering using marijuana, that you visit with your doctor for an alternative "treatment" that is better known / more likley to be safe for you both. ...Read more
Till it wears off: Since, from what I understand, scuba diving requires you to be aware of your conditions and be careful of things like remaining oxygen, etc, it would seem foolish to dive high, since cannabis interferes with those kind of functions. I would not call the state that normal use anything like 'schizophrenia, ' except in very vulnerable people, but it's not a good one for being deep underwater either! ...Read more
Maybe yes: Among the bad things smoking marijuana does to the heart and lungs are the quick rise in heart rate and blood pressure, the increased demand for oxygen by the contracting heart muscle, followed by vasodilation (blood vessels relax and dilate) with a drop in blood pressure as smoking mj continues; the abnormal rhythms in the upper heart, and maybe abnormal ventricular (lower heart) rhythms. ...Read more

Yes: Marijuana and low testosterone: the two go hand in hand. Yes, marijuana is a "herb". Yes, marijuana is a "natural plant". However, none of that is going to change the fact that marijuana is a one way ticket to low testosterone, erectile dysfunction and fertility problems. The political debate regarding marijuana may be interesting, but the research shows it to be debilitating and harmful. ...Read more
It has less: But nobody really knows, since it can be mixed with other plant products, and each "batch" may be very different from another batch. In general, the organic products found in marijuana smoke are not as harmful as those found in tobacco, but in heavy marijuana smokers can still result in bronchitis and even cancer, especially if the person also smokes cigarettes. ...Read more

If I've been smoking marijuana before a colonoscopy, is it detrimental NOT to tell the anesthesiologist?
I was told that smoking marijuana will inhibit the Zoloft (sertraline) from working? Is this true? Thanks
Possibly.: It is difficult to be certain, since Marijuana comes in so many strains, so many p;urities. But at a metabolic level, at a neurotransmitter level, at an experiential level, it is certianly a possibility. Sound advice: no marijuana when you are taking other psychoactive medicines for treatment. Besides, they will probably work better (though you won't get high). ...Read more
