Do you recommend the traditional vaccination schedule?

Do you recommend the traditional vaccination schedule?

Yes: Yes i do. My kids got it and my grand kids now are getting it. I think it is irresponsible both as a parent and physician not to recommend it. All the theories of causing this and that are disproven. Do bad reactions occur sure, but we know bad reactions happen if they get the disease, look at all the whooping cough that is coming back. We can't count on herd immunity any more! ...Read more

I'm late for my daughter 2 months vaccination schedule..about 3 weeks late. Waht should i do?

I'm late for my daughter 2 months vaccination schedule..about 3 weeks late.
Waht should i do?

Not to worry: Getting vaccines delayed by 3-4 weeks is of no great concern. Ideally the vaccines should be given at the times when they are recommended. But due to some reasons or another some do get delayed. These reasons can be minimized but vaccines should be given as soon as possible after the delay. Most vaccines cannot be pre-poned but slight delay is ok. ...Read more

What is appropriate nutrition and vaccination schedule for a preemie?

What is appropriate nutrition and vaccination schedule for a preemie?

Yes: Loaded question! nutrition: highly dependent. Fortunately, preparing you for home care (including nutrition) is one of the things nicu does best. You'll be taught all about feedings before discharge, and your baby's nutrition will be frequently reassesed by your pediatrician after you come home. Vaccinations: typically, same as full-term; some premies do need additional vaccines, (eg. Synagis). ...Read more

Is there an alternative vaccination schedule so my baby doesn't have so many vaccines in one day?

Is there an alternative vaccination schedule so my baby doesn't have so many vaccines in one day?

Why extra pain days: Having done this now for >3 decades I have witnessed the increasing amounts of anxiety in nervous parents who don't know who to believe about vaccines. I find that babies do better than the parents & they handle 4-5 vaccines at a time the same as they do 1. Spreading them out just means more painful days & i find that abusive. There is also no data to say they work as well spread out. ...Read more

Can we stagger the vaccination schedule for our newborn? Is it necessary to give all the shots according to schedule? What're the risks in staggering?

Can we stagger the vaccination schedule for our newborn? Is it necessary to give all the shots according to schedule? What're the risks in staggering?

Its child abuse: I find the kids recover from 5 shots almost as quickly as 1, and the idea of taking an infant in every week for staggered shots is, to me child abuse. Playboy bunnies and a few physicians offer this an untested way to avoid "problems" that have been disproven. It also increases the chance the kid will miss vaccines along the way. ...Read more

For those metabolic drs. Out there, what would be your standard protocol for glutaric aciduria type 1? Meds? Formula type? Vaccination schedule? Etc.

Special diet, etc...: For metabolic disorders, the genetics specialists at a children's hospital is the best source of help. The site http://www.Newbornscreening.Info/parents/organicaciddisorders/ga1.Html#4 has good info on glutaric aciduria treatment. One goal is to avoid infections, which would make a baby not eat and get internal stress (metabolic crisis occurs, leading to more brain damage). So, vaccines are good. ...Read more
