Hi, I'm 48 yo, have endometriosis, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, pre-menopausal. CA 125 was around 200's then 159 the last one was 210 any concerns?

Likely, no: CA 125 is not recommended as a screening tool for ovarian cancer when used in risk-based stratification. Meaning, assuming that your mom or sister didn't get diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Normal for women with endometriosis to have elevated CA-125. It sounds like your doctor has done Ultrasound to evaluate ovaries as well. Your MD knows your history and risk, likely this CA-125 level is normal ...Read more

To correct the anemia the bleeding from the fibroids should be stopped and your iron levels should be tested. You should also probably be supplementing with iron. ...Read more

What do uterine fibroids or cysts/ovarian cysts typically look like on an MRI?

MRI findings: Uterine fibroids can appear as dense masses on MRI, or increase in density in the layers of the uterine muscle. Ovarian cysts are often fluid filled but also can be solid masses on MRI. I would ask your health care provider or the radiologist to interpret these findings rather than trying to identify these conditions yourself as there appearance on scans are not always the same. ...Read more

Depends: Did the doctor doing ultrasound to evaluate your mother to make this determination? Often just wrong or certain birth control pills and trying to size of the fibroid which would prevent her from having it surgically removed.
