Need more info: When women have miscarriages, they often have d&cs afterward. Cauterization implies heat... Like an endometrial ablation (something your wife is too young for). An enlarged uterus without fibroids is typically adenomyosis (similar to endometriosis). The best treatment for adenomyosis is hormone management with birth control pills, or shots. Definitely speak to a doctor if you or she is worried.

Only when needed: A cath should only be performed if there is a good chance of finding something worth "fixing". It should be guided on symptoms and the results of less invasive tests, particularly stress tests.

How can you manage pain after a hysterectomy and cauterization procedure?

How can you manage pain after a hysterectomy and cauterization procedure?

Combination: Usually narcotics are given (tylenol (acetaminophen) with codiene, vicodin, percocets, etc). Take these as recommended but remember you can also take Ibuprofen or naprosyn (advil or aleve) and the combination work better together. Try to move around, avoid over-exerting yourself, & call your doc if your pain is worsening. Sometimes a change in meds helps also. Take good care of yourself.

Is a bilateral tubal cauterization the same as laparoscopic tubal sterilization?

Maybe, maybe not: U can do a laparoscopic sterilization by cautery or clips or other ways, either way is old fashioned, the newer safer way that I do 99.9% of all my sterilizations on my patients is in office - adiana (for about another month, until I run out of catheters) or in office essure- both are easy, my pts stay awake, takes 5 minutes, no cutting, only miss 1/2 day of work, u can read about it online.

Can you please name a drug that can prevent nosebleed after cauterization? Cauterization was done more than one time but nosebleed starts over time.

None: There is no medication that can prevent nosebleeds. Keeping your nasal mucosa hydrated with humidified air can help, and sometimes applying a thin layer of petroleum ointment to the inside of the nose can prevent the mucosa from drying out and bleeding.
